GOLF: Cougars sneak past Crusaders

Natalie Yamamoto shot a 2-over-par 38, and the Coronado girls golf team snagged three of the top four spots to hold off Faith Lutheran 160-163 on Tuesday at Highland Falls.

Ciara Clark shot a 39 and finished third for the Cougars, while teammate Isabella Martinez carded a 40 to take fourth.

Faith Lutheran’s Julia Becker was the medalist with a 37. Bri Yee and Sarah Paravia each shot 41 for the Crusaders to share fifth place.

Diamondbacks top Centennial

At Highland Falls, Allison Weiderman took medalist honors with a 3-over 39 to lead Desert Oasis to a 177-198 win over Centennial.

Jasmine Moore added a 43, and Ashley Malone shot 44 for the Diamondbacks.

Kianna Arizmendi paced Centennial with a 43.

Gators down Eagles

At Boulder Creek, Mercedes Khunmark shot a 7-over 43 to earn medalist honors as Green Valley defeated Boulder City, 204-237.

Sara DeMarco added a 50 for Green Valley.

Jordyn Syler shot 47 to lead Boulder City.
