GOLF: Le, Gaels take Southwest League match

Jennifer Le shot a 5-over-par 77 at Highland Falls on Thursday to help Bishop Gorman’s girls golf team to a win in a Southwest League meet.

The Gaels, who also got a 78 from Megan Orgad, had a team score of 325, five strokes better than Desert Oasis.

The Diamondbacks’ Allison Weiderman was the medalist with a 72, and teammate Ashley Malone shot 83.

Cimarron-Memorial’s Aspen Bryant shot 74.

Khumnark, Gators take Northeast meet

At Stallion Mountain, Mercedes Khumnark shot even-par 72 to lead Green Valley to victory in a Northeast League match.

Sara DeMarco added a 94, and Haley Merrill shot 99 for the Gators, who had a team score of 378. Silverado was second at 465, followed by Rancho at 474 and Las Vegas at 514.

Silverado's Dezieree Mascarenas and Rancho's Aubrianna Jordan tied for fourth individually with 110.

Cougars breeze to Southeast win

At Revere, Olivia Greenwald and Natalie Yamomoto each shot 4-over 76 to help Coronado win a Southeast League match.

The Cougars, who also got a 78 from Ciara Clark and an 82 from Isabella Martinez, shot 312 as a team. Foothill was second at 402, followed by Liberty at 466 and Basic with 530.

Foothill’s Amy Ruelas shot 86.

Saints’ Horita earns medal in Sunrise League meet

At Wildhorse, Rachel Horita of Mountain View shot an 18-over-par 88 to nab medalist honors in a Sunrise League match.

Tech finished first with a team score of 432 and was led by Meghan Chase, who took fifth with a 101. Boulder City was second at 442, followed by Moapa Valley (451) and Sunrise Mountain (554).

Jordyn Syler of Boulder City carded a 94 to finish second, two shots ahead of Moapa Valley’s Haley Nielson. Josie Delgadillo of Moapa Valley shot a 99 to finish fourth.
