GOLF: Pate’s 4-under round leads Gaels to Southwest win

Hunter Pate carded a 4-under-par 68 at Badlands on Wednesday to lead Bishop Gorman's girls golf team to victory in a Southwest League match.

Gorman, which also got a 72 from Danielle Oberlander and a 78 from Jennifer Le, had a team score of 298.

Palo Verde, led by Annick Haczkiewicz's 72, was second at 337, followed by Shadow Ridge at 396.

Lung, Cougars breeze in Southeast match

At Black Mountain, Ashley Lung shot an even-par 72 to lead Coronado to victory in a Southeast League match.

Sami Penor and Victoria Estrada each shot 79, and Gabby DeNunzio added an 80 for Coronado, which had a team score of 310. Foothill was second at 387, followed by Green Valley at 400.

Green Valley's Kat Kares carded an 80.

Potter, Eagles win Sunrise match

At Boulder City Municipal, Lani Potter shot a 6-over 78 to help Boulder City win a Sunrise League match.

The Eagles, who also got a 99 from Madisan Walker, shot 408 as a team. Tech shot 473, and Moapa Valley was third at 524, followed by Virgin Valley at 547.

Moapa Valley's Josie Delgadillo was third overall at 106, one stroke ahead of Boulder City's Lauryn Norris and two better than Tech's Cynthia Krueger.
