GOLF: Ryu leads Panthers to Northwest win

Alison Ryu carded an 18-over-par 90 at Silverstone on Wednesday to help Palo Verde’s girls golf team win a Northwest League match.

The Panthers had a team score of 377. Shadow Ridge was second with 395, followed by Arbor View (464), Spring Valley (504) and Sierra Vista (510).

Arbor View’s Betsy Branton was the medalist with an 86, one stroke better than Durango’s Yazmin Bengson.

DeJesus, Gorman take Southwest match

At Canyon Gate, Katie DeJesus shot 4-over 76 to lead Bishop Gorman to a Southwest League match victory.

The Gaels finished with a team score of 345. Desert Oasis was second with 388, followed by Centennial with 406 and Bonanza with 460.

Cimarron-Memorial's Aspen Bryant shot 80. Desert Oasis' Allison Weiderman carded an 87.
