Roundup: Gorman captures Southwest League match

Bishop Gorman placed all six of its golfers among the top 10 finishers Monday to win a Southwest League girls golf match at Bear’s Best.

The Gaels shot 325 as a team. Clark was second at 334, and Silverado finished third at 480.

Clark’s Riana Mission was the medalist with a 3-under-par 68.

Mission birdied each of her first three holes en route to winning by 10 strokes over Durango’s Bella Gopwani, who shot 78.

Sierra Vista’s Aliyah Williams and Gorman’s Logan Allen each shot 80, and Gorman’s Taylor Tanpoco and Roycee Southerland both shot 81.

Pahrump wins Sunset match

At Las Vegas Golf Course, Pahrump Valley placed its four scoring golfers among the top five finishers in a Sunset League match.

The Trojans, who shot 382, were the only team to post a score.

Western’s Carolyn Lemon was the medalist with a 4-over 76.

Pahrump’s Breanne Nygaard (81), Makalea Petrie (94), Jessica Pearson (101) and Anastassia Furman (106) rounded out the top five.

Las Vegas wins Northeast match

At Las Vegas Golf Course, Kaitlyn Horstdaniel secured medalist honors with a 36-over 108 and helped Las Vegas to victory in a Northeast League match.

The Wildcats shot 486 as a team. Rancho shot 541 and was the only other team to post a score.

Legacy’s MaKenna Higbee shot 117.
