Roundup: Lani Potter leads Boulder City to victory

Lani Potter carded a 1-under-par 71 at Las Vegas National on Thursday to earn medalist honors and lead Boulder City’s girls golf team to victory in a Sunrise League match.

The Eagles had a team score of 207. Tech was second with 349 points, followed by Chaparral (495) and Virgin Valley (497).

The Eagles had four of the top five finishers, including third-place golfer Ryann Reese, who shot 85. Boulder City’s Riley Shurman was fourth after shooting an 88, and Madisan Walker was tied for fifth with an 89.

Tech’s Cassidy Phelan placed second by carding a 79.

Centennial beats Cimarron-Memorial in weekday duel

At Palm Valley, the Bulldogs had four of the top five finishers, led by medalist Hailey Stevenson’s 1-under-par 35, to defeat the Spartans, 161-236.

McKenzi Hall carded a 37 to take second for Centennial. Cimarron-Memorial’s Katelyn Smith shot 40 for third, followed by Centennial teammates Taylor Scrutchens (44) and Jade Magana (45).
