BOYS SOCCER: Cowan, Falcons get revenge against Pioneers

Robert Cowan scored three goals Wednesday, and Foothill’s boys soccer team rolled to a 4-1 victory over visiting Canyon Springs.

Cowan’s hat trick boosted his season total to an area-best 20 goals.

Trent Milne also scored for Foothill, which led 2-0 at halftime and avenged a 4-1 loss to the Pioneers last season in the opening round of the Division I Sunrise Region tournament.

Luis Macias scored for Canyon Springs.

Coronado 9, Silverado 0 — At Coronado, Justin Lyons scored six goals to power the Cougars past the Skyhawks.

Jalen Randolph, Michael Schwob and Nick Fairchild also scored for Coronado, which got two assists apiece from Maxx Caso and Daniel Martinez.

Austin Kost and Harrison Skinner combined on the shutout for Coronado.

Eldorado 5, Liberty 0 — At Eldorado, Israel Hernandez scored three goals as the Sundevils pulled away from the Patriots.

Eddie Mercado added two goals, and Alexis Soto and Gabriel Pedraza each had two assists for Eldorado.

Roberto Nunez made nine saves to earn the shutout.

Valley 5, Green Valley 1 — At Green Valley, Marco Gonzalez tallied two goals and three assists, and Eric Sanchez and Sebastian Salcido each provided a goal and an assist to power the Vikings past the Gators.

Alejandro Parra added a goal for Valley, which led 3-1 at halftime.

Maliq Cooper scored on an assist from Connor Malone for Green Valley.

Cimarron-Memorial 5, Durango 0 — At Cimarron, Garrick Quackenbush scored twice to lead the Spartans by the Trailblazers.

Chilo Sanchez added a goal and an assist, and Dresden Quackenbush and Gustavo Ortega also scored for Cimarron.

Richard Crews made two saves en route to the shutout.

Shadow Ridge 2, Centennial 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Dominic Damato’s penalty-kick goal in the second half proved to be the difference in the Mustangs’ victory over the Bulldogs.

Matthew Camacho had the other goal for Shadow Ridge.

Jesus Vargas scored for Centennial.

Palo Verde 6, Arbor View 1 — At Arbor View, Nolan Sherwood finished with three goals and an assist to lead the Panthers past the Aggies.

Presten Manthey notched a goal and an assist, and Jordan Mashal and Jaden Ketelsen also scored for Palo Verde, which led 3-1 at halftime.

James Drye had the lone goal for Arbor View off an assist from Dalton Rice.

Las Vegas 7, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Alexis Barrios and Maclee Kinyanjui each scored twice to help the Wildcats rout the Bengals.

Marcos Urina, Steven Moreno and Randy Casas each added a goal for Las Vegas, which got three assists from Axel Catalan.

Miguel Navarrete made two saves en route to the shutout.

Desert Oasis 4, Basic 1 — At Basic, Diego Hidalgo provided two goals and an assist to lead the Diamondbacks by the Wolves.

Ivan Biorato and Kirk Schroeder also scored for Desert Oasis, which got two assists from Cesar Reyes.

Chris Lopez had Basic’s lone goal.

Legacy 3, Rancho 1 — At Rancho, Luka Skrinjaric scored twice to help the Longhorns down the Rams.

Mathew Beasley also scored for Legacy.

Robert Mina-Olivera scored for Rancho.

Tech 15, Boulder City 0 — At Boulder City, Francisco Garcia had seven goals and an assist, and Eduardo Sanchez added three goals and five assists as the Roadrunners routed the Eagles.

Adolfo Guzman had two goals and three assists, and Andres Santana had a goal and an assist for Tech. Adrian Becerra and Fabian Vera also scored for the Roadrunners.

Tyler Harvey was in goal for the shutout.

Virgin Valley 6, Desert Pines 3 — At Virgin Valley, Moises Medina scored five goals to lead the Bulldogs past the Jaguars.

Medina notched a hat trick in the first half to stake Virgin Valley to a 3-1 lead and added two more goals in the second half.

Ulises Flores added a goal, and Efren Rodriguez notched two assists for Virgin Valley, which also got an assist apiece from Pedro Osuna-Gomez and Roman Perez.

Pablo Martinez, Luis Rivera and Alex DeLaRosa all scored for Desert Pines.

Chaparral 5, Del Sol 0 — At Chaparral, Omar Miranda scored three goals to lift the Cowboys over the Dragons.

Aldo Skewes and Jonas Revers also scored for Chaparral, which got two assists from Ivan Jaquez.

Gerardo Skewes-Olvera had three saves to earn the shutout.

Sunrise Mountain 12, Moapa Valley 0 — At Moapa Valley, Jose Arellano had four goals and an assist, and Raciel Jimenez-Vazquez provided two goals and an assist as the Miners blitzed the Pirates.

Adan Segovia had a goal and two assists for Sunrise Mountain, which got a goal and an assist each from Marcos Vega and Luis Olandez.

Omar Perez, Victor Castenada and Andy Alcala also scored for Sunrise Mountain, while Luis Cortez, Noe Bencio and Enrique Pedraza each had an assist.

Cesar Venegas and Victor Vargas combined on the shutout for the Miners.
