BOYS SOCCER: Panthers prove too much for Bulldogs

Nolan Sherwood, Eli Ruffer and Matt Thomas each scored a goal Wednesday to help Palo Verde’s boys soccer team to a 3-1 victory over visiting Centennial.

Eric Sanchez scored for the Bulldogs.

Green Valley 1, Coronado 0 — At Green Valley, Bryant Peralta made eight saves to earn the shutout as the Gators edged the Cougars.

Daniel Valdez scored on a penalty kick in the 25th minute to put Green Valley on top.

Foothill 4, Valley 3 — At Valley, Dakota Maack had three goals and an assist to lead the Falcons by the Vikings.

Robert Cowan added a goal and two assists for Foothill.

Alejandro Parra had a goal and an assist, and Eric Sanchez and Juan Velazquez also scored for Valley.

Chaparral 2, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Jose Morales had a goal and an assist as the Cowboys scored a pair of second-half goals to down the Bulldogs.

Gavynn Mossiah also scored for Chaparral.

Gerardo Skewes made three saves en route to the shutout.

Tech 1, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Tech’s Francisco Garcia and the Miners’ Emilio Graciano exchanged first-half goals as the teams played to a tie.

Faith Lutheran 1, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Tristan Tomburo’s first-half goal allowed the Crusaders to tie the Desert Shields.

Desert Pines 6, Boulder City 0 — At Desert Pines, Diego Sanchez scored four goals as the Jaguars blanked the Bulldogs.

Luis Rivera and Genaro Corona each added a goal for Desert Pines, which got a three-save shutout from Jose Gutierro.

Mojave 7, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Mojave, Noe Garcia and Ivan Martinez each netted two goals as the Rattlers pulled away from the Trojans.

Lynno Muro added a goal and two assists, and Bryan Alvarez and Eduardo Luna each had a goal and an assist for Mojave.

Nick Nelson and Glen Ivy each scored for Pahrump.

Western 6, The Meadows 0 — At Western, Jonathan Orellana had a goal and an assist as the Warriors blanked the Mustangs.

Sergio Anaya, Martin Vasquez, Isaac Arellano, Walter Santamaria and Nathaniel Reyes each added a goal for Western, which got two assists from Edwin Morales.

Manuel Guillermo and Aldair Haro combined on the shutout.
