Cimarron-Memorial forfeits victory for using ineligible player

Cimarron-Memorial’s boys soccer team has forfeited its Oct. 13 win against Mojave.

The Spartans, who entered Thursday’s game with Centennial at 7-2-2 in the Northwest League, used an ineligible player in their 5-1 win over the Rattlers.

Cimarron-Memorial coach Debbie Antonino-Hunt said the school reported the violation to the Clark County School District and to the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association.

The player was ineligible after a three-week grade check.

Cimarron, which dropped a 2-1 decision to Centennial on Thursday, now is 6-4-2 in the league and fell from second place into fourth place, two points behind Legacy and one behind Palo Verde.

Mojave, a 4-1 loser to Palo Verde on Thursday, is 3-7-2 in league play.
