ROUNDUP: Chaparral boys shut out Rancho, move into fourth place

Francisco Sanchez scored two goals Wednesday to help Chaparral down host Rancho 3-0 and move into fourth place in the Northeast League.

Eric Araujo also scored for the Cowboys, who improved to 3-4-2 in league play.

Anthony Lopez registered the shutout for Chaparral.

Valley 5, Canyon Springs 0 — At Valley, Julio Borgas scored twice to help the Vikings down the Pioneers.

Jesus Chavez, Alan Arce-Guevara and Joey Lopez also scored for Valley.

Pedro Arias was in goal for the shutout.

Las Vegas 4, Desert Pines 0 — At Las Vegas, Joaquin Rivas scored a goal and had three assists to lead the Wildcats over the Jaguars. 

Michael Boldry had two goals for the Wildcats, and Angel Martinez also scored.

Braxton Boyer and Roger Zaragoza combined for the shutout in goal.

Spring Valley 3, Western 3 — At Western, Vince Leon scored the game-tying goal with five seconds remaining as the Grizzlies came back from a two-goal deficit at halftime to tie the Warriors.

Kyle Martin and Ricky Gonzalez had the other two goals for Spring Valley.

Eric Escalera, Jose Ponce and Mario Mendoza scored for the Warriors.

Pahrump Valley 5, Desert Oasis 0 — At Pahrump Valley, Daimon Nelson had two goals and an assist to help the Trojans beat the Diamondbacks.

Mike Nelson, Sergio Castro and Jason Garcia also scored for Pahrump Valley.

Shane Lindeman made four saves to earn the shutout.

Durango 2, Bonanza 0  — At Bonanza, Jorge Arauz made 14 saves as the Trailblazers shut out the Bengals.

Christian Wagner and Jason Haygarth scored for Durango.
