ROUNDUP: Cowboys upend Wildcats

Luis Zavala scored two goals Tuesday to help Chaparral’s boys soccer team knock off visiting Las Vegas, 3-1.

David Lopez added a goal and an assist for the Cowboys.

Cristian Basueto scored the Wildcats’ goal.

Sierra Vista 1, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Sierra Vista, Ivan Petrov scored the lone goal of the match with 90 seconds remaining as the Mountain Lions edged the Trojans.

Petrov gained control of the ball about 30 yards from the goal, dribbled forward and scored with a 25-yard shot into the upper right corner of the goal.

Jonathan Guzman and Francisco Cruz combined on the shutout, with Cruz making a pair of saves in the second half.

Clark 9, Desert Oasis 0 — At Clark, Salvador Bernal scored five goals to lead the Chargers over the Diamondbacks.

Juan Regalado scored two goals, and Miguel Gonzalez and Kelly Byers each added a goal for Clark. Juan Chavez had two assists.

Armando Sorin and Elmy Flores combined for the shutout.

Durango 2, Spring Valley 1 — At Durango, the Trailblazers got second-half goals from Dylan Lindemann and Ryan Benavente to break a scoreless tie and beat the Grizzlies.

Kyle Martin scored for Spring Valley.

Bishop Gorman 3, Western 2 — At Western, Shane Thompson scored the game-winning goal and had two assists to lead the Gaels over the Warriors.

Austin Cain scored the other two goals for Gorman.

Felipe Medina and Bryan Mireles each had a goal for Western.  Nelson Ponce had both assists.

Arbor View 2, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Nico Johnson and Johnny Mayorga each scored in the first half to lift the Aggies past the Longhorns.

Richie Garness made four saves to earn the shutout.

Centennial 4, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Chance Rosa had two goals and an assist to help the Bulldogs down the Mustangs.

Centennial’s Josh Sylva and Joey Porrello also scored.

Arturo Gonzales scored for Shadow Ridge.

Faith Lutheran 2, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Alex Gregoriev scored two goals, including the winner with 12 minutes to play, as the Crusaders rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to nip the Desert Shields.

Chris Ortwein assisted on both goals.

Heber Chavez scored for Cheyenne.

Palo Verde 3, Cimarron-

Memorial 1 — At Cimarron, Matt Polster had two goals and an assist as the Panthers overcame an early 1-0 deficit to beat the Spartans.

Shane Panther also scored for Palo Verde.

Luis Robles had Cimarron’s goal.

Eldorado 9, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Martin Rivera scored three goals and Ruben Duran added two goals and an assist as the Sundevils routed the Pioneers.

Luis Cruz and Logan Ziegler each had a goal and two assists for Eldorado. Anthony Murrillo and Oscar Fuentes also scored.

Ricardo Sandoval made saves to earn the shutout.

Valley 1, Desert Pines 0 — At Valley, Joey Lopez scored with 15 minutes remaining in the match to lift the Vikings past the Jaguars.

Pedro Arias made five saves to earn the shutout.

Rancho 6, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Michael Luevanos and Christian Orozco each scored two goals to help the Rams down the Miners.

Jorge Lopez and Augustin Murillo added a goal each for Rancho.

Sergio Hernandez scored for Sunrise Mountain.

Tech 5, Foothill 1 — At Tech, Eddie Lopez scored two goals as the Roadrunners built a 5-1 halftime lead and beat the Falcons.

Carlos Martinez, Kevin Jimenez and Oscar Velazquez each had a goal for Tech. Tino Carranza and Jesus Herrera each had two assists.

Foothill scored on an own goal.

Basic 4, Liberty 2 — At Liberty, Irving Cabrera had two goals, Jose Flores scored on a penalty kick and Eric Crum added a breakaway goal as the Wolves beat the Patriots.

Silverado 2, Del Sol 1 — At Silverado, Kyle Mellies and Chase Leaders scored to give the Skyhawks a 2-0 lead in a win over the Dragons.

Eric Beil scored Del Sol’s goal with three minutes remaining.

Green Valley 4, Coronado 1 — At Green Valley, Kyle Porterfield scored two goals, including a 60-footer to start the match, to lead the Gators over the Cougars.

Matt Badas had a goal and Tim Shue had a goal and an assist for Green Valley.

Larry Smith scored for Coronado.
