Roundup: Jacob Mays preserves shutout for Centennial

Centennial goalkeeper Jacob Mays made six saves on Tuesday to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 boys soccer victory over visiting Palo Verde.

Jacob Mecham gave Centennial a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 30th minute.

He then assisted on Jordan Kennedy’s insurance goal in the 65th minute.

Shadow Ridge 2, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Faith Lutheran, Nikolay Engels scored the go-ahead goal in the 60th minute on an assist from Gabriel Trujillo, as the Mustangs edged the Crusaders.

Peter Jankowski scored on a penalty kick in the first half for Shadow Ridge. Mustangs goalie Ian Dalton saved a penalty kick to secure the victory.

Cimarron-Memorial 1, Arbor View 0 — At Arbor View, Kevin Andrade scored in the second half to lift the Spartans to a win over the Aggies.

Cimarron goalkeeper Dylan Crosby-Moghadam recorded six saves en route to the shutout.

Las Vegas 3, Valley 0 — At Las Vegas, the Wildcats scored three second-half goals to beat the Vikings.

Anthony Gonzalez had a goal and two assists, and Rigo Carrasco and Ezequiel Coronel each scored once for Las Vegas.

Cesar Sosa made two saves to get the shutout.

Sunrise Mountain 8, Adelson School 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Julian Herrera scored three goals, and Angel Arreola had two goals as the Miners routed the Lions.

Bryan Martinez had a goal and three assists, and teammate Branson Suarez added a goal and two assists for Sunrise Mountain.

Juan Guzman also scored for the Miners.

Macos Plata and Jordi Garibay comined on the shutout.

Western 8, Cheyenne 0 — At Wesrtern, Juan Arredondo-Alvarez had three goals and two assists as the Warriors beat the Desert Shields.

Elizandro Zaragoza added a goal and two assists, and Jesse Vidales, Mauricio Muniz, Andy Rodriguez and Bryan Jimenez each scored once for Western.

Francisco Corona and Hassan Mhina combined on the shutout.

Eldorado 3, Canyon Springs 2 — At Canyon Springs, the Sundevils nipped the Pioneers.

Alejandro Castro scored both goals for Canyon Springs.

The Meadows 5, Innovations International 1 — At The Meadows, Adam Cohen scored four goals as the Mustangs beat the Ambassadors.

Obinna Ezeanolou added a goal for The Meadows.

Mike Escamilla scored twice for Innovations, and teammate Moises Alberto had one goal.

Desert Pines 9, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Pahrump, Joel Sanchez had five goals as the Jaguars routed the Trojans.

Eduardo Garcia added three goals and two assists, and Bryan Vazquez-Rojas scored once for Desert Pines. Erick Santillan had four assists for the Jaguars.
