Roundup: Keepers for Faith Lutheran, Bishop Gorman combine for 13 saves in 0-0 draw

Landon Amick of Faith Lutheran’s boys soccer team and Bishop Gorman’s Diesel Fiore turned in dueling shutouts as the teams played to a scoreless draw at Bishop Gorman on Tuesday.

Amick finished with eight saves, and Fiore had five.

Coronado 4, Chaparral 1 — At Coronado, Lincoln Aquino and John Lynam each scored two goals to power the Cougars over the Cowboys.

Justin Irungaray had a pair of assists for the Cougars.

Alexander Caro scored for Chaparral.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Rancho 0 — At Bryan Martinez had two goals and an assist to power the Miners over the Rams.

Angel Arreola scored for the Miners, and Bryan Garcia-Miranda had two assists.

Sunrise Mountain’s Marcos Plata made five saves in the shutout.

Spring Valley 2, Centennial 2 — At Centennial, Miguel Rodriguez scored twice as the Grizzlies played to a draw against the Bulldogs.

Jacob Mecham and Ricardo Gonzales each had a goal for Centennial.

Shadow Ridge 4, Sierra Vista 1 — At Sierra Vista, Kaeden Fernandez scored twice to lead the Mustangs over the Mountain Lions.

Peter Jankowski had a goal and an assist for the Mustangs, and teammate Miguel Trujillo had a goal.

Daniel Perez scored for the Mountain Lions.

Palo Verde 8, Virgin Valley 2 — At Mesquite, Presten Manthey scored four goals to help power the Panthers past the Bulldogs.

Bryan Montoya had two goals and two assists for Palo Verde. Henry Robledo-Matadamas supplied a goal and two assists, and teammate Zechariah Ruffer added a goal and an assist for the Panthers.

Christian Martinez scored both of Virgin Valley’s goals.

Arbor View 7, Desert Oasis 1 — At Arbor View, Marcos Martinez and Nicklaus Dongmann each had a pair of goals as the Aggies rolled over the Diamondbacks.

Cameron Kornock and Arthur Medina each had a goal for the Aggies, and Francisco Milans had a goal and an assist. Arbor view’s Ethan Boone had two assists.

Ethan Kovach scored for the Diamondbacks.

The undefeated Coronado boys soccer team made sure it was ready for Saturday’s Class 5A Southern League final after losing to Palo Verde last season.
