Vince Leon and Ricky Gonzalez each scored a goal Friday to lift Spring Valley’s boys soccer team to a 2-0 win over visiting Eldorado.
Ben Thomas and Eddie Gomez combined on the shutout for the Grizzlies.
Clark 0, Tech 0 — At Clark, the Chargers and Roadrunners played to a scoreless draw.
Kevin Avila was in goal to claim the shutout for Clark.
Abdel Rodriguez and Angel Gomez combined for the shutout for Tech.
Faith Lutheran 3, The Meadows 0 — At Mesquite, Todd Tomburo scored two goals, and D’Kharii Hicks added one goal as the Crusaders blanked the Mustangs in the Mesquite Cup.
Emeron Ahmed earned the shutout for Faith Lutheran.
Faith Lutheran added a 3-1 win over Virgin Valley in the Crusaders’ second match Friday. The Crusaders will meet Arbor View in Saturday’s championship match.
The Meadows 1, Coronado JV 1 — At Mesquite, Alex Karabachev's goal allowed the Mustangs to earn a tie with Coronado's junior varsity in the Mesquite Cup.
GIRLS
Virgin Valley 5, Moapa Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Carson Bryant scored three goals to help the Bulldogs blitz Moapa Valley in the Mesquite Cup.
Larena Rushton and Gabby Paongo each added a goal for the Bulldogs, who had Janelle Weythman and Cassidy Crandall combine in goal for the shutout.
Pahrump Valley 4, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Melissa Ewing and Janet Garcia each scored two goals as Pahrump Valley blanked the Bulldogs in the Mesquite Cup.
Madzia DeSalvo and Dana Ayala combined on the shutout for the Trojans, who earlier in the day defeated Virgin Valley's junior varsity 12-0.
Faith Lutheran 2, Bishop Manogue 1 — At Reno, Dani Theraldson scored the tie-breaking goal with five seconds left in the match, lifting the Crusaders past Manogue in the Howell Memorial Tournament.
Theraldson also assisted on a second-half goal by Kendall Pori.
Spanish Springs 1, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Reno, Spanish Springs scored the lone goal of the match early in the second half to nip the Crusaders in the Howell Memorial Tournament.
