ROUNDUP: Lopezes score contrasting goals as Valley volleys Northeast title

Mike Lopez scored the tying goal with two minutes left in the match Wednesday as Chaparral’s boys soccer team earned a 1-1 draw with visiting Valley.
Valley took a 1-0 lead on Joseph Lopez’s penalty-klck goal with 10 minutes remaining and would have won the Northeast League title had it held the lead.
But Mike Lopez’s goal, coupled with Las Vegas High’s 6-0 win over Sunrise Mountain, knocked the Vikings into second place in the Northeast.
Las Vegas 6, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, six different Wildcats scored and four different goalkeepers combined for a shutout to lead Las Vegas to an easy win over Sunrise Mountain.
Ruben Amezcua, Eduardo Paz, Eric Marquez, Ivan Chamorro, Josh Cook and Joaquin Rivas scored for the Wildcats.
Aaron Lopez, Roger Zaragoza, Garrett Jones and Alejandro Wences saw time in goal.
Desert Pines 2, Eldorado 1 — At Desert Pines, Jesus Garcia and Victor Favela scored first-half goals as the Jaguars took a 2-1 halftime lead and held off Eldorado.
Ruben Duran scored for the Sundevils.
Rancho 4, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Erik Reyna scored twice, and Edgar Vasquez and Jonathan Hernandez each supplied a goal as the Rams blanked the Pioneers.
Goalkeepers Juan Mendoza and Jonathan Amora combined on the shutout for Rancho.
Tech 1, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Christian Mojarro’s first-half goal was enough for Tech to wrap up the Southeast League title by defeating the Patriots.
Abdel Rodriguez recorded the shutout for the Roadrunners.
Green Valley 4, Silverado 0 — At Silverado, Kyle Porterfield and Dominic Felecano each scored two goals as Green Valley blanked the Skyhawks.
Andrew Hendrickson and Matt Babbas combined on the shutout.
Del Sol 5, Foothill 0 — At Foothill, the Dragons got goals from Omar Carrillo, Jesse Romero, Miguel Tarin, Mario Ovalle and Edgar Perez to beat the Falcons.
Daniel Fernandez recorded the shutout for Del Sol.
Coronado 2, Basic 2 — At Coronado, the Cougars and the Wolves played to a tie.
Eric Crum and Stephen Maman scored for Basic.
Bobby Long and Larry Smith scored for Coronado.
Clark 2, Western 0 — At Clark, the Chargers got goals from Freddy Araujo and Hugo Fajardo to help them beat the Warriors.
Elmy Flores picked up the shutout for Clark.
Bonanza 3, Sierra Vista 1 — At Bonanza, Robby Sagel scored two goals to lift the Bengals past Sierra Vista.
Sebastian Hernandez also scored for Bonanza, which got two assists from Giovanni Rodriguez.
Milan Popovic scored the Mountain Lions’ lone goal.
Bishop Gorman 3, Desert Oasis 1 — At Bishop Gorman, Sean Zaher had three goals to lead the Gaels over the Diamondbacks.
Jarom Stuart scored for Desert Oasis.
Spring Valley 4, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Nadav Elemilech scored twice to lead the Grizzlies over the Trojans.
Sami Nikolayan and Rodney Jordan each added a goal for Spring Valley.
Goalkeeper Andy Thomas made five saves in the shutout.
Cimarron-Memorial 5, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Cimarron, Edgar Nava-Figueroa scored three goals as the Spartans rolled past Shadow Ridge.
Yordan Martinez and Augustin Gamboa also scored, and Skyler Hinerman had two assists for Cimarron.
Alex Ramirez made two saves to record the shutout.
Centennial 2, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Oscar Moran and Isaac Ramirez each scored a goal as Centennial blanked the Longhorns.
Julien Mihy and Adrian Rodriguez combined on the shutout.
Mojave 2, Cheyenne 0 — At Mojave, Carlos Amaya had a goal and an assist to help Mojave break a 15-match losing streak and down the Desert Shields.
Miguel Ortiz also scored for the Rattlers, who led 2-0 at the half en route to improving to 1-15 overall.
Jose Arias recorded the shutout.
Palo Verde 2, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Palo Verde, Matej Kustura and Shane Panther each had a goal and an assist as the Panthers edged Faith Lutheran.
Wade Norman scored for the Crusaders.
Virgin Valley 5, The Meadows 2 — At The Meadows, Will Lara scored three goals and tallied an assist to lead the Bulldogs past the Mustangs.
Pedro Carminatti scored two goals, and Miguel Martinez had two assists for Virgin Valley.
Toby Warburton scored both goals for The Meadows.
Boulder City 7, Adelson School 1 — At Adelson, Trevor Montgomery and Zach Haley each scored two goals to lead the Eagles past the Lions.
Ian Donnelly and Todd Teepen each scored a goal for Boulder City, which also benefitted from an own goal.
GIRLS
Boulder City 3, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Boulder City, Melissa Stewart scored twice and had an assist to lead the Eagles to a 3-0 home win over the Trojans.
Goalkeeper Mikaela Stevens recorded a shutout for Boulder City.
Virgin Valley 5, Moapa Valley 1 — At Overton, Alex Zarndt had two goals and an assist to help Virgin Valley top the Pirates.
Kiera Ogden added two goals, and Gabby Paongo had a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs.
Ashley Nevey scored for Moapa Valley.
