ROUNDUP: Mojave notches first varsity win in boys soccer

Jose Mendoza scored the only goal of the match 10 minutes into the second half Thursday as visiting Mojave downed Cheyenne 1-0 in boys soccer.
The Rattlers collected the school’s first varsity win in any sport this season and improved to 1-6-2 overall.
Goalkeepers Kevin Groll and Jose Arias combined on the shutout.
Legacy 2, Palo Verde 1 — At Palo Verde, Julio Uribe scored on a breakaway in the second half to lift the Longhorns over the Panthers.
Legacy took a 1-0 lead in the first half on an own goal.
Palo Verde trailed 2-0 before Alexander Shackley scored for the Panthers.
Cimarron-Memorial 2, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Cimarron, Scottie Beckwith and Diego Zacarias had goals as the Spartans stopped the Mustangs.
Goalkeeper Alex Ramirez stopped five shots to get the shutout.
Silverado 1, Green Valley 0 — At Silverado, Chase Leaders scored 24 minutes into the match as the Skyhawks edged the Gators.
Goalkeeper Justin Close made five saves to earn the shutout.
Foothill 3, Del Sol 1 — At Foothill, Drew Suites assisted on all three goals as the Falcons topped the Dragons.
Efrain Meza, Micah Shepard and Christian Volesky scored for Foothill.
Zach Deittrick scored the Dragons’ goal.
Tech 5, Liberty 1 — At Liberty, Jose Guiza scored twice to lead the Roadrunners over the Patriots.
Vidal Contreras, Florentino Carranza and Luis Carranza each added a goal for Tech.
Jake Durski scored for Liberty.
Basic 2, Coronado 2 — At Coronado, the Wolves and Cougars played to a tie.
Roberto Valdez and Arturo Morales scored for Basic.
Jake LeClaire and Anthony Loiacono had goals for Coronado.
Centennial 4, Arbor View 2 — At Arbor View, the Bulldogs scored two goals in each half to down the Aggies.
