Roundup: Palo Verde tops Shadow Ridge, earns No. 1 seed

Bryan Montoya had two goals as Palo Verde’s boys soccer team earned a 4-0 home win over Shadow Ridge on Wednesday.

Timothy Stephens and Antonio Gomez each added a goal for Palo Verde, which pulled into a tie with Cimarron-Memorial atop the Class 4A Northwest League with 23 points.

Palo Verde will get the league’s top playoff seed on a tiebreaker.

Hudson Huckfeldt made two saves to get the shutout.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Western 2 — At Cimarron, Andrew Arias scored on an assist from Diego Juarez off a corner kick in the 76th minute as the Spartans edged the Warriors.

Erick Cuevas and George Balcazar also scored for Cimarron, which got an assist apiece from Tre Towers and Kevin Andrade.

Las Vegas 2, Canyon Springs 0 — At Las Vegas High, Sergio Aguayo had a goal and an assist to help lead the Wildcats to a win over the Pioneers.

Anthony Gonzalez also scored for Las Vegas.

Cesar Sosa had four saves to earn the shutout for the Wildcats.

Centennial 2, Arbor View 1 — At Centennial, Jacob Mecham had a goal and an assist as the Bulldogs edged the Aggies.

Cameron Kornock scored for Arbor View.

Faith Lutheran 1, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, Abel Mendoza scored with 15 minutes to play to give the Crusaders a tie with the Longhorns.

Eduardo Gamino scored for Legacy.

Tech 3, Moapa Valley 0 — At Tech, Gabriel Aguilar had two goals and an assist to lead the Roadrunners over the Pirates.

Alan Garcia added a goal, and Eduardo Gomez had two assists for Tech.

Yobani Garcia-Benitez had the shutout.

Green Valley 3, Basic 0 — At Green Valley, Christian Sevilla notched a goal and an assist as the Gators blanked the Wolves.

Diego Uribe and Riley Scott also scored for Green Valley.

Deven Scott made three saves to get the shutout.

Eldorado 2, Rancho 2 — At Rancho, Ramiro Andrade supplied a goal and an assist as the Sundevils and Rams played to a draw.

Roberto Soto added a goal for Eldorado.

Desert Pines 6, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Joel Sanchez had four goals as the Jaguars routed the Desert Shields.

Erick Santillan and Eduardo Flores each had a goal and an assist for Desert Pines.

Hector Zamilpa-Romero had three assists, and Justin Becerra recorded the shutout.

Mojave 6, Adelson School 3 — At Adelson School, Gustavo Marroquin scored three goals to lead the Rattlers over the Lions.

Felipe Duran added two goals, and Daniel Soto scored once for Mojave, which pulled away with three second-half goals.

Ben Elharrar, Liddor Bega and Alex Sefia each had a first-half goal for Adelson School. Samuel Shain had two assists for the Lions.

Sunrise Mountain 11, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Bryan Garcia-Miranda and Angel Arreola each had two goals and two assists as the Miners rolled past the Trojans.

Bryan Martinez added two goals and an assist, and Gabriel Herrera had a goal and two assists for Sunrise Mountain, which led 6-0 at the half.

Julian Herrera, Felipe Lucero and Joan Cisneros each had a goal and an assist, and Juan Guzman scored once for Sunrise Mountain.

Marcos Plata and Jordi Garibay combined on the shutout.
