ROUNDUP: Popovic’s late free kick lifts Mountain Lions past Trojans

Milan Popovic’s goal off a free kick from 20 yards out with two minutes remaining in the match Thursday allowed Sierra Vista’s boys soccer team to rally past visiting Pahrump Valley, 3-2.
The Trojans erased a 1-0 halftime deficit and took a 2-1 lead on goals by Alex Morrell-Englund and TeAndre Small.
Alex Koilov tied the match for the Mountain Lions with 10 minutes to go, setting the stage for Popovic, who also notched two assists.
Jorge Echavarria added a goal for Sierra Vista.
Spring Valley 5, Durango 3 — At Durango, Seth McGinn registered three goals and an assist as the Grizzlies rallied from a 3-2 halftime deficit to top the Trailblazers.
Ricky Gonzalez added a goal and two assists, and Chris Kimmich also scored for Spring Valley.
Ryan Benavente, Paris Estrada and Meseret Tekie accounted for Durango’s goals.
Bishop Gorman 2, Western 1 — At Western, Fuzz Orellana and Tyler Eng each had a goal as the Gaels edged the Warriors.
Jonathan Sanchez scored for Western.
Desert Oasis 1, Clark 0 — At Clark, Jarom Stuart scored the lone goal in the first half, and the Diamondbacks held on to nip the Chargers.
Adam Eslinger was in goal for the shutout.
Arbor View 1, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, Andre Winchell scored a first-half goal and the Aggies hung on to become the first team to steal a point from the unbeaten Longhorns.
Saul Aguirre netted the match-tying goal for Legacy (11-0-1) with 15 minutes remaining.
Cheyenne 2, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Cheyenne, Jackson Collins scored twice, and goalkeeper Aurelio Ramirez came up with a key save in the final minute as the Desert Shields edged the Crusaders.
Ryan Kay scored for Faith Lutheran, which had a penalty kick stopped by Ramirez with less than 60 seconds to play.
Palo Verde 1, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Alexander Shackley scored the only goal of the match 15 minutes before the final whistle to help the Panthers edge the Spartans.
Shackley headed in a cross from teammate Matej Kustura after both teams battled through a scoreless first half.
Palo Verde’s Colton McCann earned the shutout.
Centennial 7, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Blake Frischknecht scored two goals and Chase Lawrence added a goal and two assists as the Bulldogs routed the Mustangs.
Erik Christiansen, Chance Rose, Miguel Nieto and Tony Sanchez scored a goal apiece for Centennial.
Justin Beck scored Shadow Ridge’s lone goal.
Mojave 4, Virgin Valley 3 — At Mojave, William Flores scored three goals, and Noe Garcia added a goal as the Rattlers held off the Bulldogs.
Daniel Garcia had two assists for Mojave.
William Lara tallied a goal and two assists for Virgin Valley, which also got a goal apiece from Kyle Santos and Danny Medina.
