ROUNDUP: Thompson’s second goal lifts Gorman past Jesuit

Shane Thompson scored twice Saturday, including the match-winner with five minutes to play, as host Bishop Gorman’s boys soccer team nipped Jesuit (Calif.), 2-1.
The Gaels led 1-0 at the half before Jesuit tied the match with 20 minutes remaining.
Bishop Gorman 0, Valley 0 — At Gorman, Valley’s Pedro Arias made 10 saves, and Gorman’s Jake O’Rourke made four as the teams played to a scoreless tie.
GIRLS
Hurricane (Utah) 9, Virgin Valley 1 — At Hurricane, Utah, the host Tigers routed the Bulldogs, whose lone goal came from Gabby Paongo.
