ROUNDUP: Valdez powers Tech boys past Faith Lutheran
Rafael Valdez had three goals and an assist Friday to lead Tech’s boys soccer team to a 6-2 win over visiting Faith Lutheran.
Hugo Flores and Rafael Munoz each added a goal and an assist, and Erik Gonzalez also scored for the Roadrunners, who got two assists from Julio Vargas.
D’Khari Hicks and Randal Colquitt each scored for the Crusaders.
Virgin Valley 2, Cheyenne 0 — At Mesquite, Tony Villalobos scored in the first half, and Moises Medina added a second-half goal as the Bulldogs blanked the Desert Shields.
Domingo Ramirez made five saves to earn the shutout for Virgin Valley.
GIRLS
Cheyenne 4, Virgin Valley 1 — At Cheyenne, Adriana Basin, Amairani Gomez, Josie Lourenco and Hilda Rios each had a goal to send the Desert Shields past the Bulldogs.
Jazelle Erives dished out two assists for Cheyenne.
Breanna Tilton tallied Virgin Valley’s goal.
