ROUNDUP: Valencia’s second goal lifts Cimarron boys to win

Oso Valencia scored twice Friday, including the winning goal with about 90 seconds left, to lift Cimarron-Memorial’s boys soccer team to a 3-2 win over visiting Western.

Johnny Grieco also scored for the Spartans, who led 2-0 at halftime.

Edgar Lujano scored twice for the Warriors.

Cimarron goalkeeper Eddie Ortiz made eight saves in the second half.

Desert Pines 1, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Genaro Corona scored in the first half to lead the Jaguars past the Longhorns.

Cesar Corona made the goal stand up with a four-save shutout.

Centennial 2, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Centennial, Sean Jenne scored midway through the second half to break a 1-1 tie and give the Bulldogs a win over the Mustangs.

Phillip Hopper scored in the first half for Centennial.

Blake Damato scored for Shadow Ridge.

Durango 3, Clark 1 — At Durango, Marcos Alejo, Wasajja Wals and Brian Montes each tallied a goal to lift the Trailblazers by the Chargers.

Cristoval Magana had two assists for Durango.

Juan Lovada scored for Clark.

Faith Lutheran 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Faith Lutheran, Sam Stevens scored twice, and D’Khari Hicks added two assists as the Crusaders topped the Desert Shields.

Randal Colquitt also scored for Faith Lutheran.

Terrence Tambeagor tallied Cheyenne’s goal.

GIRLS

Legacy 2, Desert Pines 2 — At Desert Pines, Devonna Palmer and Ciara Cowlishaw each scored a second-half goal to allow the Longhorns to earn a tie with the Jaguars.

Maria Soto and Elizabeth Bautista scored for Desert Pines.

Western 3, Del Sol 2 – At Western, Jennifer Yanez’s goal with 15 minutes remaining broke a 2-2 tie and lifted the Warriors past the Dragons.

Marysol Ibarra and Cierra Ritter also scored for Western, which got two assists from Maribel Avila-Justo.

Paola Sanchez and Alicia Villa scored for Del Sol.
