SOCCER: Damato sparks Mustang boys’ second-half surge

Blake Damato had a goal and an assist in the second half Friday to help Shadow Ridge’s boys soccer team to a 2-0 victory at Green Valley.

Tyler Lavoie also scored for the Mustangs.

Nathan Kramer made 12 saves to earn the shutout for Shadow Ridge.

Eldorado 5, Valley 3 — At Valley, David Hernandez and Andres Lua each scored two goals as the Sundevils broke away from a 2-2 tie and topped the Vikings.

Chris Perez also scored for Eldorado.

Eric Sanchez had two goals, and Marco Gonzalez added a goal and an assist for Valley.

Las Vegas 4, Arbor View 1 — At Las Vegas, Alexis Berrios scored twice to lead the Wildcats by the Aggies.

Steven Moreno and Geovanny Cervantes added a goal apiece for Las Vegas.

James Drye converted a penalty kick for Arbor View.

Legacy 6, Rancho 1 — At Legacy, Jose Ramirez scored twice, and Luka Skrinjaric had a goal and two assists to power the Longhorns by the Rams.

Rodolfo Robles added a goal and an assist, and Pedro Mariscal and Daniel Mejia also scored for Legacy.

Isaias Magallon scored for Rancho.

GIRLS

Eldorado 2, Valley 0 — At Valley, Cristal Mendoza and Kimberly Olivares scored second-half goals to help the Sundevils down the Vikings.

Hannah Pewtress earned the shutout for Eldorado.

Shadow Ridge 5, Desert Oasis 2 — At Shadow Ridge, Abigayle Esqueda, Brianna Haworth, Lindsay Irwin, Stephanie Nava and Allie Ortega each had a goal as the Mustangs pulled away from a 2-2 halftime tie to top the Diamondbacks.

Mazeli Jimenez and Kali Schwenke scored for Desert Oasis.

Canyon Springs 6, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Canyon Springs, Anahi Sarabia scored twice, and Vanessa McNair added a goal and two assists as the Pioneers topped the Miners.

Leticia Godoy, Ashley Borunda and Paloma McNair also scored for Canyon Springs.

Coronado 10, Rancho 0 — At Coronado, Kassidy Pickle scored three goals, and Kasey Ficklin added two goals and two assists as the Cougars routed the Rams.

Michaela Morris had two goals and an assist, and Abby Brown added a goal and two assists for Coronado. Taylor Houston had a goal and an assist, and Savannah Schmidt supplied a goal for the Cougars.

Erin Heenan and Jolie Ross combined on the shutout.
