3A girls: Pahrump Valley, Sunrise Mountain fall in state semis

Pahrump Valley’s Vaniah Vitto scored a second-half goal to tie Friday’s Class 3A state semifinal girls soccer game, but the Trojans could not capitalize and fell to Truckee in double overtime at Spanish Springs, 2-1.
Ava Seelenfreund scored the golden goal for the Wolverines (20-4-1), and Isa Gonzalez scored the game’s first goal.
The Trojans finished the year 16-4-4.
South Tahoe 3, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Spanish Springs, Alexandra Trinidad scored twice, but the Miners could not hold a first-half lead and fell to the Vikings in double overtime of a Class 3A state semifinal.
Trinidad scored in each half to give the Miners (11-3-4) a two-goal lead, but they allowed two goals in the second half, and another in the second overtime.
Samantha Frates and Kelsey Hogan scored in the second half for the Vikings (16-7-1), with Zoe Fiston supplying the game-winner.
