GIRLS SOCCER: Petty scores twice as Pirates topple Cowboys

Kiersten Petty scored two goals Monday to help Moapa Valley’s girls soccer team to a 4-1 win at Chaparral.

Makayla Jackson added a goal and an assist, and Angie Schamanek also scored for the Pirates, who broke away from a 1-1 halftime tie.

Rosa Martinez scored for the Cowboys.

Palo Verde 3, Coronado 3 — At Coronado, Hannah Gunderson’s goal with just more than a minute to play allowed the Panthers to tie the Cougars.

Mackenzie Nogues scored twice for Palo Verde.

Michaela Morris had two goals, and Taylor Houston scored once for Coronado.

Western 3, Adelson School 2 — At Adelson, Yamilet Escamilla scored the winning goal early in the second half as the Warriors nipped the Lions.

Guadalupe Herrera scored twice for Western.

Kelsi Slee scored twice and Hayden Jansen had two assists for Adelson.

Shadow Ridge 5, Legacy 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Brianna Haworth scored three goals, and the Mustangs pulled away from a 1-1 halftime tie to down the Longhorns.

Madison Garvin and Alex Torrey also scored for Shadow Ridge.

Brittani Snook scored for Legacy.

Pahrump Valley 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Sydney Sladek had two goals and an assist to help the Trojans top the Desert Shields.

Kristin Young added a goal and an assist for Pahrump, which led 2-1 at the half.

Jocelyn Vasquez scored for Cheyenne.

Canyon Springs 2, Virgin Valley 1 — At Canyon Springs, Paloma McNair and Leticia Godoy each had a goal to help the Pioneers edge the Bulldogs.

Abbie Barnum scored for Virgin Valley.

Boulder City 2, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Mackenzie Pluta and Jana Williams each scored a first-half goal as the Eagles edged the Miners.

Miriam Galvez scored in the second half for Sunrise Mountain.

Faith Lutheran 2, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Kendall Pori and Megan Sonerholm each scored a goal as the Crusaders blanked the Rattlers.

Faith Lutheran’s Beka Lescenski made two saves en route to the shutout.

Tech 10, Desert Pines 1 — At Desert Pines, Alex Guzman had four goals and an assist, and Abrana Wielgosiak scored three goals as the Roadrunners blitzed the Jaguars.

Monica Figerora added a goal and four assists, and Adriana Guzman had a goal and three assists for Tech, which also got a goal from Cristina Mojarro.

Selena Rodriguez scored for the Jaguars.
