Green Valley girls move up to No. 23 nationally

Green Valley’s girls soccer team is ranked 23rd nationally in the latest National Soccer Coaches of America rankings.

The Gators (7-0-1) moved up one spot from No. 24, and are currently ranked fourth in Region VI.

Palo Verde’s girls also are ranked in the region, coming in at No. 7 in Region VI.

In boys soccer, Bishop Gorman is ranked No. 4 in Region VIII, with Tech ranked No. 8.

FOOTBALL RANKING — Bishop Gorman’s football team is ranked No. 25 nationally by rivals.com.

The Gaels slipped one spot in the rankings despite beating Legacy 70-0 last week.

The state’s top four girls soccer teams will play for the Class 5A state title, with Bishop Gorman playing Coronado and Liberty facing Faith Lutheran in state semifinals.
