Roundup: Allyson Lieber’s PK lifts Basic to playoff win

Allyson Lieber scored on a penalty kick in the first half to help Basic’s girls soccer team edge host Clark in the Desert Region tournament on Tuesday afternoon.
Madisen Berg made six saves to get the shutout for Basic (2-14-1), which plays at Silverado (4-7-4) at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Clark finished 4-15-3.
Mountain Region Tournament
Canyon Springs 3, Desert Pines 1 — At Canyon Springs, Mallory Arnold scored twice on penalty kicks to help the Pioneers knock off the Jaguars.
Herminia Constanza added a goal, and Lizeth Saldivar-Ledesma had an assist for Canyon Springs (3-10-2), which plays at Cimarron-Memorial (8-9-1) at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Nazly Ramos scored for Desert Pines, which finished 1-14-3.
Rancho 4, Cheyenne 0 — At Rancho, Natividad Martinez had two goals and two assists for the Rams in their shutout win over the Desert Shields.
Ashley Lopez and Jashley Aguilar each added a goalsfor Rancho (4-9-1), which advances to play at Eldorado (7-10-2) at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Cindy Mora and Delaney Weirauch split the shutou with two saves each.
Cheyenne finished 0-16.
Class 3A Regular Season
Western 2, Del Sol 0 — At Western, Angelica Sanchez and Geraldi Gomez each had a second-half goal as the Warriors defeated the Dragons.
Maria Yanez got credit for the shutout.
