ROUNDUP: Cordero’s goal lets Mustangs stun Aggies, tie for first

Meghan Cordero’s goal midway through the second half Wednesday allowed Shadow Ridge’s girls soccer team to eke out a 1-0 win at Arbor View.

Cordero scored with a long shot that snuck inside the corner of the net to move the Mustangs into a tie with the Aggies for first place in the Northwest League. Both teams have 25 points to lead Palo Verde by one point and Centennial by two.

Alexa Murrieta and Dallas Gunny combined to make 12 saves for Shadow Ridge, including nine stops by Gunny in the final 60 minutes.

Desert Oasis 3, Sierra Vista 1 — At Desert Oasis, Kayla Irmen had a goal and an assist to lead the Diamondbacks past the Mountain Lions.

Rachel Handelman and Cassidy Motis also scored for Desert Oasis.

Courtney Shay scored for Sierra Vista.

Centennial 4, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Dominique Romero recorded two goals and an assist to help the Bulldogs blank the Spartans.

Siena Drizin added a goal and an assist, and Arden Holden also scored for Centennial.

Natalie Gilbertson made two saves en route to the shutout.

Cheyenne 10, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Mackenzie Smith tallied seven goals and two assists to lead the Desert Shields in a rout of the Rattlers.

Sydney Patterson and Adrianna Basin added a goal and two assists apiece for Cheyenne, and Gizelle Erives had a goal and an assist.

Deborah Chinchilla tallied three assists for the Desert Shields.

Elena Zapada and Daniella Rodriguez combined on the shutout.

Palo Verde 5, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Autumn Alderson and Serenity Grimm scored twice each as the Panthers blanked the Longhorns.

Sila Tuiofea also scored for Palo Verde.

Stacie Gubler was in goal for the shutout.

Clark 3, Durango 0 — At Clark, Azucena Bernal had all three goals in the Chargers’ win over the Trailblazers.

Keri Thacker made four saves to earn the shutout.

Bonanza 6, Western 0 — At Bonanza, Kara Kwasniowski and Cassandra Zeder each tallied two goals to help the Bengals rout the Warriors.

Reina Alonzo and Rachel DeLaPaz also scored for Bonanza.

Sammy Haeick made two saves to claim the shutout.
