ROUNDUP: Gators capture Chino Cup

Green Valley goalkeeper Andrew Hendrickson posted two shutouts on Saturday to lead the Gators to a pair of wins at the Chino Cup tournament in Chino Valley, Ariz.

Green Valley went 4-0 to win the tournament.

Green Valley got goals from Tim Shue and Ricky Simpson in a 2-0 victory over Chino Valley.

Shue, Simpson and Ace Evans each had a goal as Green Valley beat Basic 3-0 to clinch the title.

On Friday, Green Valley beat Cape Verde (Ariz.) 4-2, and topped Blue Ridge (Ariz.) 1-0.

GIRLS

Janet Garcia scored with about three minutes left in the game to lift Pahrump Valley’s girls soccer team to a 1-0 win over visiting White Pine on Saturday.

Pahrump goalkeeper Haley Williams recorded the shutout.
