ROUNDUP: Kwasniowski, Bonanza girls secure final playoff spot in win over Spartans

Kara Kwasniowski scored two goals Wednesday to help Bonanza’s girls soccer team clinch the Southwest League’s final spot for the Division I Sunset Region playoffs with a 2-1 win over visiting  Cimarron-Memorial.

Ryann Abeyta scored for the Spartans, who would have earned the final spot with a win.

Faith Lutheran 2, Pahrump Valley 1 —
At Pahrump, Dani Tharaldson scored early in the second half to break a 1-1 tie and help the Crusaders hand the Trojans their first loss of the season.

Tharaldson also scored in the first half.

Sydney Sladek scored for Pahrump.

Centennial 4, Desert Oasis 0 —
At Centennial, Shannelle McDonnell scored two goals to lead the Bulldogs past the Diamondbacks

Danielle Farano and Deztanie Villafane added a goal each for Centennial, which got a shutout from Charlotte Madrid.

Clark 8, Western 1 — At Clark, Ariana Reyes scored six goals to lead the Chargers in a rout over the Warriors.

Darian Gambetta added a goal and an assist for Clark, which got a goal from Esmerelda Cruz.

Guadalupe Herrera scored for Western.

Tech 3, Boulder City 2 — At Boulder City, Abrana Wielgosiak scored twice to lead the Roadrunners by the Eagles.

Monica Figerora also scored for Tech.

Jane Nevarez scored twice for Boulder City.

Sunrise Mountain 0, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, the teams played to a scoreless tie.

Gladys Vega posted a shutout for the Miners. Martha Gandarilla and Andrea Diaz combined on the shutout for the Jaguars.

Bishop Gorman 7, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Katie Turner had two goals and two assists, and Tatum Buckley notched a goal and an assist to help the Gaels blank the Longhorns.

Ariana Cabrera, Kayla Carr, Nadia Leal and Madison Moore all scored for Gorman.

Virgin Valley 4, Moapa Valley 2 — At Mesquite, Karson Bryant and Breanna Tilton each had a goal and an assist to lift Virgin Valley past the Pirates.

The Bulldogs also received goals from Jasmine Correa and Emma Dodenbier.

Cheyenne 0, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Cheyenne’s Clara Zamora and Mojave’s Kathleen Riva each posted a shutout as the teams played to a scoreless tie.

Powerhouse quartet playing for 5A girls soccer state title

The state’s top four girls soccer teams will play for the Class 5A state title, with Bishop Gorman playing Coronado and Liberty facing Faith Lutheran in state semifinals.
