ROUNDUP: Martinez helps Cowboys snap long winless drought

Rosalia Martinez scored three goals Thursday, including the match-winner midway through the second half, as Chaparral’s girls soccer team broke a 21-match winless streak with a 3-2 victory at Sunrise Mountain.
The Cowboys led 2-0 early in the second half before Cindy Robles and Aryn Bordman scored for the Miners to tie the match.
Martinez then notched the winner as Chaparral collected its first victory since a 3-0 win over Valley on Feb. 18, 2010. The Cowboys had lost 14 straight and were 0-20-1 since their last win.
Amanda Martin had two assists for Sunrise Mountain.
Desert Pines 3, Canyon Springs 2 — At Desert Pines, Marisol Sierra, Cristina Ibarra and Yesica Gomez each had a goal as the Jaguars built a 3-0 lead and held on to nip the Pioneers.
Maydelin Pena notched two assists for Desert Pines.
Diamond Larson had a goal and assisted on Rosaura Guerrero-Escobedo’s goal for Canyon Springs.
Eldorado 1, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas High, Mackenzie McCoy’s goal with 10 minutes to play lifted the Wildcats into a tie with the Sundevils.
Alexis Sama scored for Eldorado.
Valley 3, Rancho 1 — At Rancho, Ashley Marra scored twice as the Vikings downed the Rams.
Rachel Watson added a goal for Valley.
RaeAnn Wiltshire scored for Rancho.
Tech 1, Foothill 0 — At Tech, Ashlyn Sanchez’s goal with 18 minutes to go broke a scoreless tie and allowed the Roadrunners to edge the Falcons.
Susan Melian made six saves en route to earning the shutout.
Liberty 4, Basic 2 — At Liberty, Sunshine Soriano had two goals and an assist as the Patriots stormed back from a 2-1 halftime deficit to down the Wolves.
Alexia Gonzalez and Nicole Cuce also scored for Liberty.
Eryn Martinez and Sabi Bosselmann scored for Basic.
Silverado 6, Del Sol 0 — At Silverado, Laura Covarrubian netted three goals as the Skyhawks routed the Dragons.
Katelyn Comeno, Krista Lee and Courtney Anderson also scored for Silverado.
Taylor Lommason was in goal for the shutout.
