Roundup: Silverado tops Las Vegas in season opener

Margie Farnsworth scored the go-ahead goal on a breakaway in the 70th minute to lift the Silverado’s girls soccer team to a 2-1 home victory over Las Vegas on Thursday.
Kristyn Lommason scored a first-half goal for Silverado.
Maria Hernandez scored an unassisted goal in the 57th minute for the Wildcats.
Durango 3, Desert Pines 1 — At Durango, Esmerelda Buenrostro-Mendoza scored two goals to lead the Trailblazers past the Jaguars. Simona Santana also scored a goal, and Nayely Petatan added an assist for Durango, which scored two second-half goals for the victory.
Brenda Andrade scored a goal for the Jaguars.
Bonanza 1, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Celina Gomez scored with eight minutes left in the second half to lead the Bengals to a victory over the Sundevils.
Liberty 5, Spring Valley 0 — At Liberty, the Patriots jumped out to an early lead and coasted in the second half for a victory in their season opener.
Jordyn McCollum scored twice, and Mia Edwards, Jordyn Peters and Josephine Camacho each added a goal. Liberty goalkeeper Ashley Bongiovanni made one save and finished with the shutout.
