ROUNDUP: Spring Valley girls keep pace in Southwest

Spring Valley’s girls soccer team kept its hold on second place in the Southwest League on Friday, scoring once in the first half and adding a pair of second-half goals en route to a 3-0 win at Clark.
Mahala Shumway, Samantha Boedecker and Markie Henderson each had a goal for the Grizzlies, who improved to 5-1-1 in league play, and matched league-leading Bishop Gorman’s point total of 16. The Gaels hold a 5-0-1 league record.
Megan Delaney registered the shutout for the Grizzlies.
Sierra Vista 5, Durango 1 — At Durango, Darien Walker and Taryn Farris each had two goals and an assist to help the Mountain Lions to their first Southwest League win of the season.
Melissa Smillie added a goal and an assist for Sierra Vista, which improved to 1-3-2 in league play.
Janie Bordinhao scored the Traliblazers’ lone goal.
Cimarron-Memorial 6, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Theresa Sanchez and Brooke D’Onofrio each scored two goals as the Spartans blanked Mojave.
Taylor Pinier added a goal and two assists, and Chelsea Mann had a goal for Cimarron. Halley Kirkwood dished out four assists.
Mariah Abeyta recorded the shutout for the Spartans.
Legacy 4, Cheyenne 3 — At Legacy, Celia Myers had two goals and an assist, and the Longhorns held on to edge the Desert Shields.
Natasha Rodriguez scored once and had two assists, and Ashley Stichauf added a goal for Legacy, which led 4-0 at halftime.
Cheri Colwell, Jennifer Ramirez and Mackenzie Smith each scored once for Cheyenne.
