ROUNDUP: Walker lands double to lead Sierra Vista girls past Western

Darien Walker scored a pair of first-half goals on Wednesday to lead Sierra Vista’s girls soccer team to a 2-0 home victory over Western.

Goalkeeper Tina Tyner made three saves to earn the shutout for the Mountain Lions.

Bishop Gorman 1, Durango 0 — At Durango, Tiffany Ysassi scored off an assist from Meghan Brascia midway through the first half to lift the Gaels past the Trailblazers.

Kaylie Vitale recorded the shutout.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Valley 2 — At Sunrise Mountain, Jessell Odello had two goals and an assist to help the Miners edge the Vikings.

Sonia Ramirez added a goal, and Crystal Franco had an assist for Sunrise Mountain.

Alejandra Flandez and Ciara Alfazak each scored a goal for Valley.

Palo Verde 5, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Kori Jeffries had three goals to lead the Panthers past the Rattlers.

Sila Tuiofea added a goal and an assist, and Michelle Panko also scored for Palo Verde. Tatiana Pagan notched three assists.

Panko and Krystina Walters combined on the shutout.

GAMES POSTPONED — A pair of Wednesday’s matches were postponed due to poor field conditions.

Cimarron-Memorial will play at Cheyenne on Feb. 12.

No makeup date has been announced for the Spring Valley-Bonanza game.
