RECRUITING: Palo Verde’s Dressler commits to Sacramento State

Grant Dressler, who helped Palo Verde’s boys basketball team to a berth in the Division I state final, made an oral commitment to Sacramento State on Saturday.

The first day Dressler can sign a letter of intent is Wednesday, and the Hornets’ coaches cannot comment until that time.

Dressler, a 6-foot-7-inch small forward, was one of the area’s most improved players this past season. He averaged 19 points and 8.6 rebounds for the Panthers and was a first-team all-state selection after struggling to get regular minutes on the court as a junor.

Dressler made an official visit to Sacramento State last month, and he also was drawing recruiting interest from American, Eastern Washington and Maine.
