VOLLEYBALL: Carter, Mendonsa help Longhorns outlast Arbor View

Kiana Carter had 16 kills, and Kamaile Mendonsa dished out 49 assists Friday to help Legacy's girls volleyball team outlast visiting Arbor View, 11-25, 25-23, 26-24, 20-25, 15-9.

Myah Maxwell had 14 kills, and Mia Suzuki added 26 digs for the Longhorns, who got 10 digs from Jorden Yamaguchi.

Hannah Goddard had 23 kills and three aces, and Sofia Valenzuela supplied 10 kills and three blocks for the Aggies, who got 52 assists from Alyson Jeeves.

Sierra Vista 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Sierra Vista, Shantalle Demirjian had seven kills and eight aces, and Lexy Ross added eight kills as the Mountain Lions downed the Desert Shields, 25-14, 22-25, 25-9, 25-6.

Jasmine Buchanan had four kills and four aces for Cheyenne. Bridgette Menist put down five kills, and Karina Toro had seven digs for the Desert Shields.

Spring Valley 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Jessica Rafay had 11 kills and 11 assists, and Danielle Amonica added 10 kills and 15 assists as the Grizzlies downed the Chargers, 25-15, 25-19, 25-16.

Taylor Wightman had five digs for Spring Valley.

Angel Jamerson paced Clark with seven kills, 10 assists and nine digs. Stephanie Warren had four aces and three digs, and Alex Brown added 15 digs for Clark, which got seven digs from Liza Spilsbury.

Pahrump Valley 3, Western 0 — At Western, Alexis Trieb had 13 kills to help the Trojans to a 25-22, 25-23, 25-7 win over the Warriors.

Jill Smith had 21 assists, and Lauren Ashford added 12 digs for Pahrump.

Destiny Gonzalez had five kills, six blocks and 12 digs, and Rachel Nunez had five kills and seven digs for Western, which got 13 assists from Nicole Riggs.

Faith Lutheran 2, Empire (Ariz.) 0 — At Tucson, Ariz., Megan Kronschnabel had 25 assists and six digs as the Crusaders topped the Ravens, 25-14, 25-11, in the Catalina Foothills Falcon Invitational.

Elizabeth Tuls had eight kills and two blocks, and Bryanna Neagle had five kills for Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran 2, Rio Rico (Ariz.) 0 — At Tucson, Ariz., Bobbi Tharaldson had eight kills to lead the Crusaders to a 25-6, 25-7 win over the Hawks in the Catalina Foothills Falcon Invitational.

Sydney Washington added seven kills, and Kronschnabel had 26 assists for Faith Lutheran.

Catalina Foothills (Ariz.) 2, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Tucson, Ariz., the Falcons were 25-22, 25-22 winners over the Crusaders in the Catalina Foothills Falcon Invitational.

Kronschnabel had 20 assists, and Tuls had five kills and two blocks for Faith Lutheran, which got six kills from Washington.

Calvary Chapel 2-2, Mountain View 0-0 — At Calvary Chapel, Mariah Martin had 10 assists and five aces in the opener and 14 assists in the nightcap as the Lions swept the Saints, 25-1, 25-4 and 25-10, 25-12.

Malia Lee had six kills, and Macayla Odom had three kills in the first match for Calvary Chapel.

Lee had five kills and five aces, and Isabel Coleman had four kills in the second match for the Lions.

Lincoln County 2-2, Needles 0-0 — At Needles, Calif., Bridon Lewis had a total of 13 kills to help the Lynx sweep a doubleheader, 25-18, 25-10 and 25-15, 25-7.

Lewis had five kills and two aces in the opener and eight kills in the nightcap.

Cameron Lloyd had a total of four aces, six kills and 12 digs for the Lynx, who also got eight kills and three digs from Hannah Hafen.

White Pine 2-2, Lake Mead 0-0 — At Ely, the Bobcats were 25-11, 25-12 and 25-12, 25-17 winners over the Eagles.

Beatty 3, Round Mountain 0 — At Round Mountain, the Hornets were 25-14, 25-16, 25-17 winners over the Knights.

Sandy Valley 3, Beaver Dam 2 — At Littlefield, Ariz., the Sidewinders outlasted the Diamondbacks, 25-22, 16-25, 25-15, 19-25, 15-8.
