GIRLS BASKETBALL: Ethridge, Bulldogs top Dillard in Nike tourney

Justice Ethridge scored 26 points Friday to help Centennial's girls basketball team to a 61-45 win over Dillard (Fla.) in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Gilbert, Ariz.

Pam Willmore added 11 points for the Bulldogs, who outscored Dillard 38-25 in the middle quarters to take control.

Destiny Frazier led Dillard with 13 points.

Liberty 56, West Campus (Calif.) 54 — At Gilbert, Ariz., Taylor Turney had 27 points and five rebounds to lead the Patriots to the win in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Kaily Kaimikaua added 14 points and six rebounds for Liberty.

Namiko Adams had 15 points, and Kiara Jefferson scored 14 for West Campus.

Rancho 71, Valley 55 — At Rancho, Maureen Macato had 24 points, six assists and five steals as the Rams cruised past the Vikings.

Rancho led just 34-28 at halftime before outscoring Valley 28-12 in the third quarter. Tatianna Lee added 19 points, six assists and five rebounds, and Kyndal Ricks had 11 points for Rancho.

Sandra Scroggins led Valley with 15 points, and teammate Jeuzel Pollins had 14 points.

Canyon Springs 85, Chaparral 67 — At Canyon Springs, Alexia Thrower had 26 points, and Dayonna Maddox scored 25 points to lead the Pioneers over the Cowboys.

Marcia Hawkins led Chaparral with 30 points, and teammate Alexis Vanstory scored 25.

Desert Oasis 47, Silverado 40 — At Desert Oasis, Mikala Kirby scored 16 points to lead the Diamondbacks past the Skyhawks in the Tarkanian Classic.

Sierra Mich'l added 11 points for Desert Oasis, which jumped out to a 22-12 first-half lead and never looked back.

Deja Siaki hit five 3-pointers and scored 16 points to lead Silverado.

South Gate (Calif.) 53, Durango 49 — At Desert Oasis, Clarissa Rodriguez scored 22 of her 26 points in the first half as the Rams held off the Trailblazers in the Tarkanian Classic.

Isabel Lizarraga added 14 points, including going 8-for-10 from the free-throw line in the second half to preserve the victory for South Gate.

Brittany Romo scored 27 points to lead Durango, and teammate Rejasia Coleman added 16 points.

Bishop Gorman 59, Centennial (Idaho) 39 — At Gorman, Aja Phoumiphat scored 17 points and the Gaels rolled to the win in the Tarkanian Classic.

Madison Washington added 14 points, and Raychel Stanley scored 11 for Gorman.

Tori Williams led Centennial with 20 points.

Wasilla (Alaska) 61, Coronado 31 — At Wasilla, Alaska, Leya DePriest had 23 points to lead the Warriors by the Cougars in the Doc Larson Roundball Classic.

Haley Tyrell had 12 points and seven rebounds for Coronado, which also got eight points from Tia Thornton.

Moapa Valley 58, Wells 26 — At Mesquite, Kyla Shumway had 11 points, and Shelbi Walker scored 10 to lead the Pirates over the Leopards in the Lady Bulldog Invitational.

Moapa Valley used a 15-2 third-quarter run to pull away.

Panguitch (Utah) 63, Mojave 27 — At Mesquite, Jordan Bennett had 19 points, and Kapri Orton 18 to lead the Bobcats over the Rattlers in the Lady Bulldog Invitational.

Savannah Blanchard-Davis had 11 points to pace Mojave.

Virgin Valley 52, Sierra Vista 50 — At Mesquite, Bernice Fiso had 16 points, and the Bulldogs held off the Mountain Lions in the Lady Bulldog Invitational.

Emma Barnum added 14 points for Virgin Valley, which led 16-4 after one quarter.

Iyoni Burrell scored 16 points to lead Sierra Vista. Shania Harper added 13 points, and teammate Kayla Smith scored 12 for the Mountain Lions.

Dixie (Utah) 54, Tech 36 — At Mesquite, Kelsea Barker had 20 points and the Flyers topped the Roadrunners.

Leslie Williams had nine points to lead Tech, which trailed 27-12 at the half.

Agassi Prep 70, Needles 68 — At Needles, Calif., Azaria Conway-Wilson hit nine 3-pointers and had 32 points to lead the Stars by the Mustangs.

Sharmayne Finley added 21 points for Agassi Prep.

Brenna Chavez led Needles with 22 points. Jayne Antone scored 17, and Jasmine Mejia had 12 points for the Mustangs.

Laughlin 36, Lake Mead 23 — At Lake Mead, Brittany Schelper had 16 points to lead the Cougars by the Eagles.

Josey White paced the Eagles with eight points.

Lincoln County 74, Calvary Chapel 15 — At Panaca, Kristal Jackson had 16 points, nine rebounds, seven steals and three blocks as the Lynx routed the Lions.

Savannah Harr and Hannah Hafen each added 10 points for Lincoln County, which led 24-3 after one quarter.

Malia Lee led Calvary Chapel with 11 points.

White Pine 61, The Meadows 5 — At Ely, Kadi Finicum had 15 points to lead the Bobcats by the Mustangs.

Emily Bischoff had 11 points for White Pine, which led 23-0 after one quarter.

Beaver Dam 20, Indian Springs 12 — At Littlefield, Ariz., the Diamondbacks used a 12-3 edge in the middle quarters to down the Thunderbirds.

Kristina Belt had six points and eight rebounds, and teammate Kayla Noyes had six points, five rebounds and four steals for Indian Springs.

Sandy Valley 31, Baker (Calif.) 28 — At Sandy Valley, the Sidewinders held off the Braves.

Abbie Evans belted a three-run home run in a seven-run sixth inning Friday that helped Moapa Valley’s softball team to a 12-5 win over Chaparral in the losers’ bracket final of the Class 3A Southern Region Tournament at Pahrump.
