Angela Hammond won three state titles, one individual, and helped Cheyenne’s girls track team finish second at the Class 3A state championship at Foothill on Saturday, the best placement of any Southern Nevada school.
Cheyenne’s Angela Hammond won two individual events and ran on two winning relays Friday and Saturday to lead the Desert Shields to the Class 3A Southern Region girls track title in Overton.

Shelbi Denman spun a one-hit shutout and stuck out eight as Shadow Ridge’s softball team blanked Bingham (Utah) 13-0 in four innings in the Tournament of Champions at Bullhead City, Arizona.
