Allen Merritt had 18 points, nine rebounds and four steals Saturday as Agassi Prep won its third state title in four years with a 60-43 victory over Adelson School in the Class 2A final at Cox Pavilion.
Once the dust settled after nearly three minutes of play and Destiny Rover connected on a deep 3-pointer for the game’s first points Friday, the Agassi Prep girls basketball team turned to its defense to cruise to a 61-46 win over White Pine in a Class 2A state semifinal at Del Sol.
Jake Buchman nailed the game-winning 3-pointer in overtime Friday that lifted the Lions to a 57-56 win over West Wendover in a Class 2A state semifinal at Del Sol.
