Desert Pines named Week 7 Nevada Preps football Team of the Week

It took a few weeks, but Desert Pines’ football team finally looks to be coming together.

The defending 3A state champs lost many seniors in the offseason, and it showed on the field when the team was shutout the first two weeks of the season. Since then, the Jaguars have been on a roll, outscoring their opponents 111-6 while rattling off three straight victories.

Sophomores Jyden King and Michael Lofton shined in Desert Pines’ last win, a 35-6 victory over league opponent Mojave, which helped earn the Jaguars Nevada Preps Team of the Week honors.

Desert Pines next plays on Friday at 7 p.m. at Cheyenne.
