After having their three-year state championship streak snapped last season, the Panthers made a relatively easy time of winning the Class 4A state title.
Sparked by individual wins from Rome Odunze and Kyu Kelly, the Gaels wrapped up their second consecutive Class 4A title by scoring 99 points.
Centennial ran away with its ninth straight Class 4A team championship. The Bulldogs scored 126 points. Runners-up Carson and Sierra Vista each had 54.
Jasmine Martin retired 12 of 16 batters and led a 15-hit attack to help the Mustangs to a 13-3, five-inning victory over Coronado on Saturday in the Class 4A title game.
Senior Shea Clements hit a home run to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning to help the Mustangs to a 7-6 victory over Coronado on Friday in the winners’ bracket final.
Bonds, who also ran on the winning 400 relay team and finished third in the 100, helped Centennial build a big lead heading into Saturday’s events.
Winning pitcher Alyssa Stanley went 2-for-2 with a home run, double and three RBIs to help the Mustangs move into the winners bracket final against Coronado at 3 p.m. Friday.
Coronado senior Michael Sarro birdied the 18th hole Monday to grab a share of the lead at the halfway point of the Class 4A state boys golf tournament at Somersett Country Club in Reno.

Martin ran the 100-meter dash in a personal-record time of 10.71 seconds on Saturday morning at Desert Oasis to claim the Mountain Region championship and an automatic bid in the state meet next week. The sturdy senior doubled as a running back for Legacy’s football team and said he started preparing for track season after football concluded.
Alyssa Stanley entered the circle in the third inning and dominated most of the way to lead the Mustangs to a 7-3 victory over Coronado on Saturday at Bishop Gorman.
Edmond ran the 100 meters in 11.84 seconds on Saturday at Desert Oasis to secure the Moutain Region championship — and an automatic bid to the Class 4A state meet next week. Teammate Aniya Smith finished second in 12.11, and Centennial’s Quincy Bonds ran 12.16 for third.
