The Cats clinched the championship Monday evening at Faith Lutheran with a 9-8 victory over the Mustangs, who rallied in the top of the seventh inning until Peters ended the game with a 5-3 double play.
Tyler Vizcarra was perfect through the first four innings, battled out of second-and-third jams in the fifth and seventh, and cruised to a victory that sent the Mustangs to Saturday’s championship game, where they will face the LV Cats at 6 p.m.
Brandon Smith fired a one-hitter to lead the Cats to a 10-0 victory over the Las Vegas Mustangs on Thursday night at Faith Lutheran. With the win, the Cats advance to Saturday’s title game.
Branson Tressler was 4-for-4 with a double, home run, five RBIs and two runs to lead the Las Vegas Mustangs to a 12-6 win over the Summerlin Panthers in the Connie Mack state baseball tournament.
Kota Nakamura went 3-for-5 with two RBIs on Monday to lead the Summerlin Panthers to a 16-8 win over the Southern Nevada Bengals in the pool play portion of the Connie Mack state baseball tournament at Bonanza.

Evan Walling fired a five-inning perfect game on Friday as the Southern Nevada Bengals earned a 13-0 win over the Nevada A’s in pool play of the Connie Mack state tournament at Bonanza.
