Outlook: Carmona takes over a team that returns just two starters.
“The team will be very inexperienced with only a handful of players every seeing varsity competition,” Carmona said.
The Pioneers will benefit from the transfer of junior Jordan Baca, who played in California last season. Carmona said Baca will lead off and play shortstop.
The team’s two pitchers, Miangel Coleman and Lorian Acosta, both are seeing their first varsity action this year.
“The team has been working really hard on the fundamentals of the game,” Carmona said.
