2A STATE: McCrosky, Lynx battle back into title round

K.C. McCrosky pitched a five-hitter and drove in a run to lead Lincoln County’s softball team to a 6-3 victory over White Pine in the losers’ bracket final of the Class 2A state tournament Friday at Lovelock.
Kourtney Gloeckner went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs for Lincoln County (27-5), which scored five runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 5-0 lead.
The Lynx advanced to meet Yerington (26-3-1) in the title round at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lovelock.
Hatty Brown doubled and scored a run for Lincoln County, and Bailey Free was 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
Maa Kingston and Alli Huntington each had two hits and scored a run for White Pine (22-12), which fell 4-3 to Yerington earlier Friday.
Lincoln County 7, Needles 2 — At Lovelock, Elle Scott went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI as the Lynx ousted the Mustangs (18-12) in an elimination game.
Kaylee Teel (two runs), Chanel Adamson (one run) and winning pitcher McCrosky (one RBI) each had two hits for the Lynx.
Meghan Mann was 2-for-4 with a home run and a double for Needles.
