Clark downs Chaparral in softball

Elisa Dawson pitched a one-hitter and struck out 14 on Thursday as Clark’s softball team defeated visiting Chaparral, 7-1.

Clark broke open the game with three runs in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth.

Bonanza 10, Valley 5 — At Valley, Brittany Spencer went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI to help the Bengals down the Vikings.

Cheyenne Wells was 3-for-4 for Bonanza.

Vanessa Corona went 3-for-4 a double and an RBI for Valley.

Liberty 11, Rancho 1 — At Liberty, the Patriots scored five runs in the first inning and cruised past the Rams.
Liberty’s Christina Foti pitched a complete game, giving up no earned runs with six strikeouts, and had a triple.

Breanna English was 2-for-3 with one double for the Patriots.

Robin Lowery and Michelle Hall each had a triple for Liberty.

Tech 12, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, the Roadrunners took advantage of five passed balls and three errors that resulted in an eight-run third inning to beat the Rattlers in five innings.

Amanda Roark pitched a complete game for Tech.

Cheyenne 5, Canyon Springs 3 — At Canyon Springs, Erin Elder went 1-for-3 a double and two RBIs, and Lexi Galindo went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI to help the Desert Shields down the Pioneers.

Rachel Holly pitched a complete game, striking out six for the Desert Shields.

Arbor View 13, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Amanda Jones pitched a six-inning complete game with eight strikeouts to lead the Aggies over the Sundevils.

Marlene Panduro doubled and finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs, and Tiffanee Anderson went 2-for-4 with a triple, a double and three runs for Arbor View.

Desert Pines 11, Western 1 — At Desert Pines, Ana Ramirez had two doubles and four RBIs as the Jaguars routed the Warriors.

Megan Robbins pitched a one-hitter and struck out nine.

Faith Lutheran 7, White Pine 6 — At the Colorado River Invitational in Needles, Calif., Michelle Beatty and Maya Burns scored on a throwing error, and Kaitlin Patterson tripled home the tying run and scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the fifth to give the Crusaders the victory.

Beatty finished 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.

Legacy 12, Lake Mead 0 — At the Colorado River Invitational, Kayla Murray went 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple, five RBIs and two runs as the Longhorns rolled past the Eagles in a three-inning game.

Legacy 2, Spring Creek 1 — At the Colorado River Invitational, Sierra Pico pitched a complete game, giving up one earned run with six strikeouts as the Longhorns edged the Spartans.

Kirsten Pico was 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Legacy.

Sandra Day O’Connor (Ariz.) 6, Desert Oasis 0 — At the Tournament of Champions in Bullhead City, Ariz., Sam Bedker pitched a perfect game, striking out 17 to lead Sandra Day O’Connor past the Diamondbacks.
