CRUSADER INVITATIONAL: Silverman helps Sierra Vista top Faith Lutheran

Hana Silverman went 2-for-3 with three RBIs Monday to help Sierra Vista’s softball team defeat host Faith Lutheran 7-4 in five innings in the Crusader Invitational.

Mia Buranamonti was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Jamie Kalaau-Sunia was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mountain Lions, who broke a 2-2 tie with a five-run third inning.

Claire Peck and Ellie Fried each went 2-for-3 for the Crusaders.

Western 12, Desert Pines 0 — Makalita Moeaki tossed a three-inning perfect game with seven strikeouts and had a three-run home run and a double as the Warriors routed the Jaguars.

Alexis Moeaki added a triple for Western.

Western 8, Moapa Valley 5 — Makalita Moeaki had three hits to help the Warriors beat the Pirates in five innings.

Jennessa Dunton had two hits, including a double, and Nazelin Reyes added two singles for Western.

Lainey Cornwall and Mercedes Gale each had two hits for Moapa Valley.

Sierra Vista 17, Chaparral 1 — Kalei Watkins went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a three-run homer as the Mountain Lions defeated the Cowboys in three innings.

Taylor DeGuzman, Marcella Gaona and Madison Hiu each added two hits and two RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Silverman and Andrea Barajas combined on a two-hitter for Sierra Vista.

Moapa Valley 6, Tech 5 — The Pirates made the most of three hits and held off the Roadrunners in five innings.

Gale and Devony Cooper each doubled for Moapa Valley, which led 6-0 before Tech scored five runs in the fifth.

Tech 16, Chaparral 5 — Melissa Fuller homered, doubled and drove in five runs to lead the Roadrunners by the Cowboys in three innings.

Bonanza 18, Desert Pines 2 — At Bonanza, Caitlyn Lloyd homered, tripled and drove in two runs to lead the Bengals by the Jaguars in three innings.

Samantha DeMattia allowed one hit in three innings for Bonanza.
