ROUNDUP: Beatty strokes triple, helps Panthers nip Longhorns

Breanna Beatty’s two-out triple in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday plated Angel Council with the go-ahead run as Palo Verde’s softball team rallied from a 6-4 deficit to top visiting Legacy, 8-6.

The Panthers tied the game with two runs in the fifth inning, and Council led off the sixth with a single. After a strikeout and a ground out, Beatty tripled home Council. Rachael Turner followed with an RBI single to plate Beatty.

Turner went 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs, and Beatty and Brooke Stover each went 2-for-4 for Palo Verde.

Sierra Pico was 2-for-4 for the Longhorns.

Valley 10, Canyon Springs 9 — At Valley, Zoe Gallindo tripled home the tying run and scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Vikings rallied from a 9-7 deficit to nip the Pioneers.

Galindo finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs.

Green Valley 4, Tech 1 — At Tech, Cori Sutton went 2-for-4 and scored a run as the Gators defeated the Roadrunners.

Jamison Bascom and Kimmie Rodriguez each went 2-for-3 for Tech, and Bascom had an RBI.

Las Vegas 15, Desert Pines 0 — At Las Vegas High, Brooke Booth threw a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and no walks as the Wildcats blanked the Jaguars in five innings.

Jasmina Salas had a two-run double, and Kristina Nelson added an RBI-double for Las Vegas, which got two hits from Taylor Price.

Eldorado 9, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Eldorado, Ashley Jarzombek spun a three-hitter and struck out 14 to lead the Sundevils past the Miners.

Taylor Schroeder went 2-for-4, and Cheyanne Schindler added a triple and three RBIs for Eldorado.

Rancho 5, Chaparral 1 — At Chaparral, Brandy Marlett spun a three-hitter with 14 strikeouts and three walks, and also stroked a double to help the Rams down the Cowboys.

Aly Lamboo and Devine Camberos had two hits each for Rancho.

Lauren Lesniak went 1-for-3 with a double for Chaparral.

Foothill 8, Liberty 1 — At Foothill, Rhiana Balaun had two hits, including a two-run homer, to help the Falcons defeat the Patriots.

Hannah Stevens went 2-for-3 with a triple for Foothill.

Francesca Foti homered for Liberty.

Basic 8, Del Sol 4 — At Basic, Teuila Sheehan was 3-for-3 with an RBI as the Wolves topped the Dragons.

Brandy Huff went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Basic.

Ashley Ross was 2-for-4 for Del Sol.

Coronado 11, Silverado 1 — At Coronado, Danielle Amato tossed a five-inning two-hitter and went 2-for-2 with a home run and a double as the Cougars overwhelmed the Skyhawks.

Haley Harrison was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and three RBIs, and Kiley Harrison was 1-for-2 with a home run for Coronado.

Katie Amaral went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Silverado.

Centennial 21, Cheyenne 5 — At Centennial, Madison Henzlik and Alyssa Finger each belted a grand slam, and the Bulldogs used a pair of 10-run innings to rout the Desert Shields in a five-inning game.

Henzlik went 3-for-5 with four RBIs, and Finger finished 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs. Heather Bowen was 2-for-4 with her 14th home run of the season for Centennial.

Mia Acuna and Lauren Stroman each went 3-for-3, and Bailie Nelson was 2-for-2 for Centennial, which also got two hits from Taylor Huntly.

Arbor View 13, Faith Lutheran 2 — At Arbor View, Ashlyn Ames pitched a five-inning three-hitter with four strikeouts and went 2-for-2 with a double, three runs and an RBI as the Aggies routed the Crusaders.

Dacia Sykes was 3-for-3 with a solo home run and scored three runs, and Ke’Anna Kamaka and Adrienne Drewniak added two hits each for Arbor View.

Shadow Ridge 16, Mojave 4 — At Mojave, Krislyn Campos was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, and the Mustangs used an eight-run second inning to pull away from the Rattlers in a five-inning game.

Alyssa Duga was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Mojave.

Tonopah 16-24, Mountain View 5-4 — At Mountain View, Deanna Van Poucke hit for the cycle in the nightcap as the Muckers swept a doubleheader from the Saints.

Van Poucke tossed a six-inning four-hitter in the opener and a four-inning two-hitter in the nightcap.

Indian Springs 11-14, Laughlin 0-1 — At Laughlin, Brandi Bryl tossed a no-hitter in the opener and went 7-for-7 in the two games as the Thunderbirds swept a pair of five-inning games from the Cougars.

Bryl allowed one walk and struck out 10 in the first game and followed it up by fanning 11 in a three-hitter in the nightcap.

Bryl was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Heather Thormahlen went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in the first game.

In the second game, Bryl was 4-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. Thormahlen went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and teammate Baylee McCormick went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs.
