ROUNDUP: Bodnar’s blast sends Gators past Wolves

Ali Bodnar belted a home run to left field with two outs in the top of the eighth inning Tuesday to lift Green Valley’s softball team to a 1-0 win at Basic.
The Gators improved to 10-1 in the Southeast League and maintained a two-game lead over Foothill and Liberty with three games remaining.
Alicia Firelein tossed a four-hitter and struck out nine for Green Valley.
Basic’s Lacey Romo also spun a four-hitter and fanned 12. Marissa Ross went 2-for-2 for the Wolves.
Foothill 5, Coronado 0 — At Foothill, Alex Petrolia tossed a one-hitter and struck out 10 as the Falcons blanked Coronado.
Coronado’s Devyn Choltko broke up Petrolia’s bid for a no-hitter, singling with two outs in the seventh inning.
Aricia Dami went 2-for-2 with an RBI, and Myranda Mortel was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Foothill.
Liberty 17, Del Sol 2 — At Liberty, Sara Nieman tossed a five-inning four-hitter with seven strikeouts as the Patriots routed the Dragons.
Megan Patras, Breanna English and Rhiannon Beck each had two hits, including a double, for Liberty.
Las Vegas 10, Valley 2 — At Valley, Ashly Westgarth went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, three runs and three RBIs, and Krizzel Galvez was 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and three RBIs as Las Vegas cruised past the Vikings and clinched at least a share of the Northeast League title.
Monique Hernandez tossed a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Wildcats.
Mickayla Romero hit a solo home run for Valley.
Chaparral 13, Desert Pines 12— At Chaparral, Stephanie Diaz’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh scored JeNiece Morgan with the winning run as the Cowboys edged the Jaguars.
Morgan was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and three RBIs, and Maria Pereyra went 2-for-3 with three runs for Chaparral.
Megan Robbins hit 5-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and six RBIs for Desert Pines.
Eldorado 11, Rancho 1 — At Rancho, Gabriela Trillo went 4-for-4 with a double as the Sundevils routed the Rams in six innings.
Kayla Nasife was 2-for-4 with a triple for Eldorado, which took advantage of eight errors by Rancho.
Megan Jaramillo tossed a three-hitter and struck out eight for the Sundevils.
Canyon Springs 9, Sunrise Mountain 4 — At Canyon Springs, Victoria Rivera doubled twice and drove in two runs, and Ally Givens homered to help the Pioneers past the Miners.
Braylin Nichols tossed a complete game with five strikeouts, scattering five singles, for Canyon Springs. Dari Carter added a triple and two RBIs for the Pioneers.
Shannon Cyphert had a two-run single for Sunrise Mountain.
