ROUNDUP: Brooks leads Mustangs into postseason

Sabriya Brooks belted a grand slam, a double and five RBIs Friday as Shadow Ridge’s softball team clinched the Northwest League’s final playoff spot with a 14-3, six-inning home win over Faith Lutheran.

Krislyn Campos went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and four RBIs to help Shadow Ridge.

Danette Daguiar was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, and Karla Serrano went 2-for-2 with a triple for the Mustangs.

Palo Verde 6, Arbor View 4 — At Arbor View, the Panthers held off a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh to escape with a win over the Aggies.

Melissa McCormick fanned 11, including Arbor View’s final two hitters with runners in scoring position, and had two RBIs.

Rachel Williams supplied three runs for Palo Verde, which took advantage of 10 errors by the Aggies to score five unearned runs.

Chelsa Baca and Dacia Sykes each had two hits and two RBIs for Arbor View.

Cimarron-Memorial 16, Mojave 1 — At Cimarron, Sarah Murphy went 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run and five RBIs as the Spartans routed the Rattlers in five innings.

Brittany Hoppe and Reanna Bass both went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Cimarron.

Four Cimarron pitchers combined on a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts.

Legacy 8, Cheyenne 0 — At Legacy, Sierra Pico threw a one-hitter, striking out nine and walking three, as the Longhorns blanked the Desert Shields.

Jessie Wilhelm went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Alicia Santos was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Legacy.

Desert Oasis 16, Spring Valley 6 — At Spring Valley, Taylor Beacham went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored as the Diamondbacks came back from an early 3-2 deficit to rout the Grizzlies in six innings.

Natasha Chapman was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Diamondbacks, who exploded for 14 runs in the last three innings.

Rikki Kirchefer went 3-for-4 with two runs scored for Spring Valley.

Clark 13, Sierra Vista 3 — At Sierra Vista, the Chargers scored 11 runs in the first three innings and rolled to a victory over the Lions.

Shawna Potratz went 2-for-4 with a triple to lead Clark, and teammate Jasmine Fukuda was 2-for-5.

Kalene Sales-Watkins went 3-for-4 for Sierra Vista, which committed 11 errors.

Durango 16, Western 0 — At Durango, Marley Sandoval was 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, and Nicole Schultz went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs as the Trailblazers secured the outright Southwest League crown by blitzing the Warriors in five innings.

Mallory Connolly went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Samantha Juarez added a solo home run for Durango.

Centennial 7, Rancho 2 — At Centennial, Taylor Huntly tossed a four-hitter with six strikeouts and went 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Bulldogs past the Rams.

Alyssa Finger was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs for Centennial.

Chaparral 14, Del Sol 4 — At Chaparral, Keila Lizares went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to help the Cowboys easily dispatch the Dragons in six innings.

Destini Hover was 3-for-4 for Chaparral, and teammate JeNiece Morgan hit a three-run homer.

Pahrump Valley 15, Moapa Valley 0 — At Pahrump, Miranda Monje went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs as the Trojans routed the Pirates in five innings.

Alaina Murphy was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Pahrump.

Boulder City 16-13, Virgin Valley 0-5 — At Mesquite, Shayla Bennett went 6-for-8 with six RBIs and a double as the Eagles swept the Bulldogs.

Taylor McKeever was 5-for-8 with a home run and five RBIs for Boulder City.

Lincoln County 15-16, Laughlin 1-0 — At Panaca, Melanie Florence homered and doubled in the nightcap as the Lynx secured the top seed for the Class 2A Southern League playoffs with a sweep of the Cougars.

Pahranagat Valley 26-15, Indian Springs 17-11 — At Indian Springs, Tami Spencer went 5-for-6 with a home run and a triple in the opener, and Kennedy Huntsman got the win in both games as the Panthers outslugged the Thunderbirds.

Pahranagat Valley’s Kyla Mortensen was 4-for-6 with a homer in the opener.

Heather Thormahlen was 5-for-5 with a double in the first game, and went 3-for-4 with a double in the nightcap for Indian Springs.
