ROUNDUP: Creswell’s 12th-inning single leads Spartans past Desert Shields

Sarina Creswell’s two-run single to center with no outs in the top of the 12th inning Monday scored Starlyn Thomas and Hannah Williams as Cimarron-Memorial’s softball team edged host Cheyenne, 5-3.

Madison Newhard went 3-for-6 with two doubles for Cimarron. Williams also was 3-for-6, and Creswell and Thomas had two hits apiece.

Cimarron pitcher Carrie Sheehan struck out 13.

Cheyenne’s Vanessa Sanders belted a three-run home run to tie the game in the sixth. Melanie Manley went 3-for-5 for the Desert Shields.

Centennial 5, Arbor View 4 — At Arbor View, the Bulldogs took the lead when three runs scored on a throwing error in the top of the seventh inning and held on to edge the Aggies.

Alyssa Finger went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple and a run scored for Centennial.

Palo Verde 16, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Angel Counsil went 5-for-5 as the Panthers pounded out 15 hits to beat the Rattlers in five innings.

Cheryl Iddings hit 3-for-3, and Danielle Hearn was 1-for-3 with a home run for Palo Verde.

Tori Fenton tossed a three-hitter for the Panthers.

Legacy 12, Faith Lutheran 2 — At Faith Lutheran, Kayla Murray was 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs to lead the Longhorns to the six-inning win.

Sierra Pico went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Legacy.

Maya Barnes doubled and scored a run for Faith Lutheran.

Pahrump Valley 20, Spring Valley 4 — At Spring Valley, Tori Rock went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, and Taylor Raymer was 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs to lead the Trojans to a five-inning win over the Grizzlies.

Tranyce Rankin went 1-for-3 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs, and Becca Gamble and Petra Beighley each singled, scored twice and drove in two runs for the Trojans, who scored nine runs in the second inning and 10 in the fifth.

Brittany Craig, Katie Campo and Rikki Kirchefer each went 2-for-3, and Nicole Lynch was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Spring Valley.

Bonanza 18, Sierra Vista 1 — At Bonanza, Cheyenne Wells went 4-for-4 with a pair of triples and two RBIs as the Bengals routed the Mountain Lions in five innings.

Nicolette Lind was 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs for Bonanza.

Bonanza’s Courtney Spencer tossed a two-hitter, striking out eight and walking one.

Clark 11, Western 0 — At Clark, Julia Hagen tossed a one-hitter — allowing only a single in the top of the fourth inning — as the Chargers blanked the Warriors in five innings.

Hagen struck out seven and walked one.

Kaitlyn Szeles went 2-for-2 with a double for Clark. Shannon Chapman was 2-for-2, and Hannah Hagen went 2-for-3 for the Chargers.

Desert Oasis 10, Bishop Gorman 3 — At Desert Oasis, Emily Heinz went 2-for-2 with two doubles and three runs scored to lead the Diamondbacks past the Gaels.

Lenzi Cram earned the win with seven strikeouts, and Nicole Liakos had a two-run single in the fifth inning for the Diamondbacks.

Rancho 7, Canyon Springs 1 — At Canyon Springs, Aly Lamboo pitched a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts to help the Rams breeze past the Pioneers.

Merridee Drury went 3-for-4 with one RBI for Rancho. 

Valley 15, Chaparral 1 — At Chaparral, Zoe Galindo was 4-for-4 with two RBIs in the Vikings’ five-inning rout of the Cowboys.

Jasmine Villamar went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Lucelly Arias had two doubles for Valley.

Maria Pereyra was 2-for-3 for Chaparral.

Las Vegas 17, Sunrise Mountain 3 — At Sunrise Mountain, Jenice Gutierrez went 4-for-5, and Monique Hernandez was 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs as the Wildcats routed the Miners in five innings.

Krizzel Galvez was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs, and Valerie Talamantez hit 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Las Vegas.

Jasmine Jones went 2-for-3 with a triple for Sunrise Mountain.

Eldorado 22, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Kayla Nasife, Megan Jaramillo and Jennifer Gibbons each had three of Eldorado’s 13 hits as the Sundevils blanked the Jaguars.

Gabriela Trillo added a pair of doubles for Eldorado.

Leticia Salazar had two hits for Desert Pines.

Boulder City 19, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Paxton Fleming and Ali Rants each went 3-for-4 as the Eagles blitzed the Dragons in five innings.

Megan Snyder was 2-for-3, and Angel Ragone and Bri Morang each went 2-for-4 for Boulder City.
