ROUNDUP: Dawson propels Coronado past Basic

Kim Dawson smacked a two-run double in the eighth inning and Devyn Choltko followed with an RBI single to give Coronado’s softball team a 5-2 win at Basic on Wednesday.
Amanda Green had tied the game for Basic with a two-out solo home run in the seventh.
Coronado’s Katie Cochran and Morgan Yuhas each had a double.
Basic’s Lacey Romo struck out 16.
Green Valley 4, Silverado 1 — At Green Valley, Shelby Vickers was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to help the Gators down the Skyhawks.
Vickers’ two-run double in the fourth extended Green Valley’s lead to 3-0.
Carly Smith was 2-for-3 with a double for the Gators.
Foothill 10, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Shelbie Medrano went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs as the Falcons scored four runs in the first inning and six in the fifth to down the Dragons.
Foothill’s Maddie Wamsley was 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Del Sol’s Heather Romero went 2-for-3.
Liberty 14, Tech 0 — At Tech, Kelly Phllips went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs, and the Patriots scored at least three runs in each of the first four innings on their way to victory.
Breanna English went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs and combined with Phillips on a one-hitter. Michelle Hall was 2-for-4 with a double.
Jessica Teague had Tech’s lone hit, a second-inning single.
Shadow Ridge 7, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Mandy Harmon allowed only one hit — a single by Starlyn Thomas to lead off the game — as the Mustangs clinched the outright Northwest League title by blanking the Spartans.
Harmon, who also went 1-for-2 with two RBIs, struck out 13 and walked two.
Shadow Ridge’s Courtney Winnett was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Also for the Mustangs: Ashley Eldridge went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, Britney Cato was 2-for-3 with a double, and Rae-Ann Bohm was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Arbor View 4, Centennial 2 — At Centennial, Chelsea Venable went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI to lead the Aggies past the Bulldogs.
Arbor View’s Nichole Diaz was 2-for-4 with a run.
Centennial’s Paige Reese went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Palo Verde 5, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, winning pitcher Missy McCormick went 2-for-3 with two runs, struck out seven and went the distance to lead the Panthers over the Longhorns.
Palo Verde’s Cheryl Iddings doubled and Lauren Stover tripled.
Legacy’s Sierra Pico struck out 10.
Cheyenne 13, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Rachel Holly threw a two-hitter as the Desert Shields routed the Rattlers in five innings.
Cheyenne’s Erin Elder went 3-for-3, and Holly was 3-for-4.
Pahranagat Valley JV 15, The Meadows 10 — At The Meadows, Pahranagat Valley scored in all five innings to defeat the Mustangs in a game that was called because of darkness.
The Meadows’ Robin Monkrash went 2-for-3 with four RBIs.
